Given that this is an overarching standard it is to be expected that during anassurance engagement a range of other standards will be cited. Assurance providerswill look for standards and guidelines that provide• suitable sustainability performance criteria,• indicators supported by appropriate protocols,• suitable systems and process criteria and associated certification programs,• product and labelling criteria and associated certification programs,• procedures that supplement the requirements and guidance in this standard,• benchmarks that can be used to evaluate adherence to the principles andperformance,• evidence of commitment to principles or codes of practice.Where other standards have their own certification or verification programs,certificates or verification statements from these programs may be included asevidence by assurance providers.7 September, 2009
