Ultrabond<strong>ECO</strong> <strong>972</strong> <strong>972</strong> INSTRUCTIONS1. Surface PreparationAll subfloors must be structurally sound, level, dry,well-fastened, clean and free from any substance thatmay reduce or prevent adhesion. For details, see MAPEI’s“Surface Preparation” document for Floor Covering InstallationSystems.2. MixingUltrabond <strong>ECO</strong> <strong>972</strong> is ready to use without mixing.3. Application3.1 Refer to wood flooring manufacturer’s instructionsand industry standards regarding job site, materialconditioning and installation. Leave the appropriatespacing around the perimeter of the room and stationaryobjects as re<strong>com</strong>mended by the flooring manufacturer toallow for the expansion of wood flooring.3.2 Wood flooring, adhesive and subfloor should bemaintained at room temperature (73°F [23°C]).3.3 Use the re<strong>com</strong>mended notched trowel to ensure thatat least 90% of the adhesive transfers to the woodmaterial’s backing. Note: Secure starter row by wedgingor face-nailing.3.4 Let the adhesive dry 10 to 15 minutes before installingthe wood flooring.3.5 After placing, press the wood flooring firmly into theadhesive to ensure good contact with the adhesive.Periodically confirm proper adhesive transfer to thebacking by lifting the material.3.6 When re<strong>com</strong>mended by the wood flooring manufacturer,carefully roll the wood flooring installation with a rolleras specified by the flooring manufacturer.3.7 Promptly clean adhesive smudge from flooring surface.Complete installation according to the wood flooringmanufacturer’s instructions.3.8 After the installation, protect from traffic for 24 hours.4. Expansion and Control Joints4.1 Provide for expansion and control joints where specified.4.2 Do not cover any expansion joints with adhesive.4.3 Cut wood flooring on both sides along the edges ofexpansion joints.4.4 Insert the specified <strong>com</strong>pressible bead and sealant forexpansion and control joints, according to plans andspecifications.
