Lightning barriers of typeMDP are used in areas requiringparticularly small installation widthswith simultaneously high numbersof poles.Type FRD, FLD <strong>and</strong> MDP lightningbarriers are designed foruse in so-called floating (asymmetrical,potential-free) two-coresystems. These are systemswhose signal circuits have nocommon reference potential withother signal circuits, e.g. 20 mAcurrent loops.
