The project will be entitled Risksand Rewards.Barings, at one time Britain’s oldest andmost influential bank, was responsiblefor bankrolling the Purchase of Louisiana,the Guinness flotation and the buildingof the Grand Union Canal, amongst manyother investments. It was once said thatthere were five great powerful countriesin the world and the sixth great powerwas Barings.UpdateThe project will focus on KS3Mathematics and Economic Wellbeing.After listening to pitches from varioushistorical entrepreneurs, and reviewingthe risks and potential rewards,pupils will be able to choose to investin different projects, to see howsuccessful they can be in the world offinance.Some of the projects featuredwere successful, others were not sosuccessful or were turned down by thebank for various economic, political orethical reasons.There will also be a section explainingfinancial concepts, how the marketswork and the global economy.May 25thE2BN will be running a number ofEngageLive sessions to support saferuse of the Internet.
