Tactical initiativesSome of the notable initiatives for the <strong>AmG</strong>businesses throughout the financial yearinclude:• Launch in May 2008 AmBeautiful, acomprehensive protection plan thatprotects ‘women on the go’ as well astheir babysitters or maids;• A new anti vehicle theft solution,AmAct, was launched on 8 September2008 in partnership with B’SmartTechnology Sdn Bhd and Proton EdarDealer Association (PEDA).Customer ProximityTo become the preferred top insurer forservice, <strong>AmG</strong> aims to ensure that all itscustomers and business partners caneasily transact business with the personnelon a daily basis.To this end, <strong>AmG</strong> launched a Call Centre on8 August 2008 to provide instant servicesto its customers on any type of requests.On top of that, various contact channelssuch as AmAlert SMS, website, fax andemail systems were also set up to ensurethat <strong>AmG</strong> is close to its customers.Corporate Social ResponsibilityApart from the sound financial performanceachieved, our Corporate SocialResponsibility (CSR) framework constitutesan inherent part of <strong>AmG</strong>’s DNA. In 2008,<strong>AmG</strong> worked closely with the Ministry ofTransport to feature emergency help linenumbers and <strong>AmG</strong> contact points, printedat the back of 10 million road tax displaystickers. Also, our annual “Drive Safely.We Care” road safety education campaignwas conducted at the three most popularRest and Relax (R&R) spots along PLUShighway, namely Tapah, Gurun, Pagoh andalso at Berjaya Times Square shoppingmall in Kuala Lumpur to remind the publicat large on the importance of road safety.An array of exciting activities plus energydrinks and car fragrance goody bags weregiven out to energise all visiting drivers andpassengers alike. Uniquely, road usersexperienced activities that touched thefive senses of sight, touch, hearing, tasteand smell.Word of AppreciationThe new financial year continues tobe challenging. We are confident thatthe Government’s stimulus packageannounced by the Prime Minister willhelp boost the growth activity of theMalaysian economy and invariably, assistthe insurance industry. We are confidentsentiments will improve and growthopportunities will be made available to allsectors of the economy.
