Fax : 91- 22 - 24983658E-mail : admaindia@vsnl.net1109/ADMA/375 4 th November 2009ToAll Members of ADMASeminar on “AYUSH MARK SCHEME” for VoluntaryCertification in AYUSH Sector -Jointly organized by ADMA and GAAMAwith the support of QCIDear Sirs,The Department of AYUSH had sought assistance from QCI (Quality Council ofIndia an autonomous body set up by Government of India to establish and operatenational accreditation structure and promote quality) to develop voluntary certificationsystems covering some common AYUSH products and medicinal plants.Accordingly, the AYUSH MARK SCHEME describes the requirements against whichcertification can be obtained under the Voluntary Certification Scheme for AyushProducts. The certification is available at two levels viz:a) Ayush Standard Mark which is based on compliance to thedomestic regulatory requirements; andb) Ayush Premium Mark which is based on compliance to WHOGMP or more stringent GMP’s as per importing countriesrequirements.Further, subsequent to the Consultative meeting held on 28th August, 2009 inMumbai & other locations, formation of various bodies such as the TechnicalCommittee, the Certification Committee & the Multi Stakeholder Committee &conduction of their respective meetings the Scheme has now been finalized by theDepartment of AYUSH.

ADMA on behalf of QCI has been involved to co-ordinate a series of meetings atNational level which are being primarily held to:• Give a broad outline of the finalized “Ayush MarkScheme”.• Discuss about advantages of “Ayush Mark Scheme” tothe Manufacturers.• Address Queries in regards to the above to the bestpossible level of the Scheme Format as it stands today• Explain what should be the nature of compliancesrequired for the Manufacturers to get the “Ayush Mark”Presentations in this regard would be made by representatives from QualityCouncil of India/Dept of AYUSH & ADMA.Quality Council of India has expressed support from ADMA vide their letterdated 3rd November 2009 (Letter enclosed). Accordingly, ADMA with the cooperationof GAAMA are jointly organizing a full day Seminar on “AYUSH MARKSCHEME” for Voluntary Certification in AYUSH Sector. The particulars of the sameare:Date : Tuesday, 17 th November 2009Time : 9.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.mVenue: Hotel Inder Residency, opposite Gujarat College, Ellisbridge, Ahmedabad-38006.The detailed programme would shortly follow.
