NWA-3166 MIMO (Multiple In, Multiple Out) utilises a multiple antenna system to take advantage of the multi-path affect in RF technology,
rather than fight against it as conventional 802.11 Access Points do. The resulting improvement in both range and capacity provides
substantially more reliable signal quality and greater bandwidth in enterprise environment deployment.
Zero Extra Cost to Convert Stand-alone APs into a Centralised WLAN
ZyXEL NWA-3166 Business Wireless Access Point is featured as hybrid AP that can act as a stand-alone enterprise class AP and/or WLAN
controller at the same time. The hybrid AP has full flexibility to deploy secure and reliable WLAN networks and could support up to 300
users. In the initial phase of constructing a WLAN, the NWA-3166 can be configured as a fully functional stand-alone AP; when more APs are
installed, the NWA-3166 can be set to the WLAN controller mode to manage all other access points. Moreover, when a new branch office is
set up, one of the managed NWA-3166 can become another controller and to manage a separate WLAN network.
Simplifying the Maintenance Efforts While Keeping Quality of Performance
The NWA-3166 can centrally manage up to 24 Access Points, including itself, dual-band NWA-3160, dual-band and dual-radio NWA-
3500, high power NWA-3163 and outdoor dual-radio NWA3550. This support to a wide range of managed access point enables network
administrators to choose the best AP for desired applications, while the management interface reminiscing single AP also helps network
administrators to easily oversee all the WLAN access points, even they are not on the same site.
