The decision-makingauthority for Deep Panuke resides with the projectmanagement team in Halifax….…Critical to the success of Deep Panuke are twokey requests:• Consideration and approval of the two pipeline transportationoptions for Deep Panuke natural gas; and,• Abandonment in place of the export pipeline, in-fieldflowlines and umbilicals as part of the decommissioningprogram for the projectFor pipeline transportation, EnCana is assessing anexport pipeline from Deep Panuke to Goldboro, NS (theM&NP option) as well as a subsea tie-in with the exportpipeline for the Sable Offshore Energy Project (the SOEPsubsea option)….…With respect to the abandonment in place keyrequest, the proposed decommissioning program for DeepPanuke is consistent with established industry practicesaround the world and represents the best option based onsafety, environmental, technical and cost considerations….…Furthermore, EnCana estimates that over the lifeof Deep Panuke, between 6.5 and 7.3 million person hoursof work will be completed by Nova Scotians, with another600,000-900,000 person hours by Canadians.
