The decision-makingauthority for <strong>Deep</strong> <strong>Panuke</strong> resides with the projectmanagement team in Halifax….…Critical to the success of <strong>Deep</strong> <strong>Panuke</strong> are twokey requests:• Consideration and approval of the two pipeline transportationoptions for <strong>Deep</strong> <strong>Panuke</strong> natural gas; and,• Abandonment in place of the export pipeline, in-fieldflowlines and umbilicals as part of the decommissioningprogram for the projectFor pipeline transportation, EnCana is assessing anexport pipeline from <strong>Deep</strong> <strong>Panuke</strong> to Goldboro, NS (theM&NP option) as well as a subsea tie-in with the exportpipeline for the Sable Offshore Energy <strong>Project</strong> (the SOEPsubsea option)….…With respect to the abandonment in place keyrequest, the proposed decommissioning program for <strong>Deep</strong><strong>Panuke</strong> is consistent with established industry practicesaround the world and represents the best option based onsafety, environmental, technical and cost considerations….…Furthermore, EnCana estimates that over the lifeof <strong>Deep</strong> <strong>Panuke</strong>, between 6.5 and 7.3 million person hoursof work will be completed by Nova Scotians, with another600,000-900,000 person hours by Canadians.
