He has, however, continuedto worry whe<strong>the</strong>r Gilbert Ryle’s comment that “<strong>the</strong> matter is stated well andalmost interestingly” referred more to <strong>the</strong> quality <strong>of</strong> its treatment ra<strong>the</strong>r than toRyle’s aversion to <strong>the</strong> nature <strong>of</strong> its subject (religious belief). O<strong>the</strong>r papers haveappeared in organs including PHILOSOPHY AND PHENOMENOLOGICALRESEARCH and PHILOSOPHIA. His latest, on Wittgenstein, appears in <strong>the</strong>2008 edition <strong>of</strong> JOURNAL OF PHILOSOPHICAL RESEARCH.32
