The submittalmay include a 60-80 word proposed paragraph, which may be consideredfor verbatim inclusion in the <strong>Journal</strong>.Photographs may also be submitted with the release. News releaseswill be selected based on the quality of their content; however, advertiserswill be given preference over non-advertisers. Non-advertisers may paya $150.00 fee to have their news release included in an issue in whichthey are not advertising.Sales leads are sent cost-free to designated editorial contacts fornews releases. Duplicate copies of sales leads will be provided, if needed,for a $75.00 fee. Reader service numbers are not provided for announcementsin the Utility and Industry News departments.Meeting & Training CalendarThere is a $150.00 fee for an organization to announce up to threeevents in the Meeting & Training Calendar in one issue of <strong>Nuclear</strong><strong>Plant</strong> <strong>Journal</strong>. The announcement will include basic information aboutwho, what, when and where and the name, phone and fax numbers ofthe contact person.Technical PapersRefer to the Call for Papers and Submittal Guidelines.EditorialParticipationInformationCover PicturesThe cover of <strong>Nuclear</strong> <strong>Plant</strong> <strong>Journal</strong> will be selected fromcolor pictures of nuclear power plants, inside or outside views.The quality, professional significance and caption message willbe of prime consideration in the selection of a picture. Interiorshots are preferred over exterior shots.Guidelines• An electronic file of the cover picture may be submittedon a CD-ROM. The cover picture should be a highresolutionelectronic file. A four-color print must alsoaccompany the electronic file.• The picture may be submitted as a vertical 8 x 10-inchglossy color print.• All submittals must include a 50-word caption highlightingcurrent information on the featured plant.• The submittal should include a release letter (on companyletterhead) authorizing EQES, Inc. to use the picture forthe cover, subsequent reprints or any other EQES, Inc.literature, including display at exhibitions.InterviewsInterviews with chief executive officers, presidents orother senior executives may be conducted by the editor for usein <strong>Nuclear</strong> <strong>Plant</strong> <strong>Journal</strong>. The interviewed party must providetravel, boarding and lodging arrangements and, if needed, aninterpreter and a photographer.Open Houses & Demonstrations<strong>Nuclear</strong> <strong>Plant</strong> <strong>Journal</strong> staff may attend open houses, demonstrationsor other events organized by utilities, manufacturersand other organizations. The host organization must providetravel, boarding and lodging arrangements and, if needed, aninterpreter and a photographer.<strong>Nuclear</strong> <strong>Plant</strong> <strong>Journal</strong>, a 26-year publication, providestechnical information exchange among managers and engineersin the nuclear power industry. Open houses and demonstrationsare only for the background information of the editor.
