Cleaning andmaintenanceAdvice for Hand Cleaning of Viridian ComfortPlus GlassThis glass product has a very thin coating on theinterior glass surface. It is this hard and durablecoating which gives the product improvedthermal insulation and solar control performancecompared to ordinary clear glass. The coatedsurface of Viridian ComfortPlus glass doesclean differently to ordinary glass and theseguidelines are recommended for the mostappropriate hand cleaning results.Routine Cleaning:Hand cleaning of the coated (interior) surface,to visibly remove accumulated dust orfingerprints, can be accomplished usinga number of different glass cleaning products.The exterior surface of the glass is not coatedso can be cleaned in the same fashion asordinary glass.Recommended Routine Cleaning Products:Windex ® Multi-Surface Cleaner (colourlessliquid) (Australia) or Mr Muscle ® Surface andGlass (New Zealand) (clear liquid availablefrom Supermarket), produced by SC Johnson& Son Pty Ltd; orA mixture of one part vinegar with ten parts water.In addition to the above products, commerciallyavailable vinegar-based glasscleaners havegenerally demonstrated an ability to providea clean, streak free glass surface. Viridian doesnot recommend the use of ammonia-baseand alcohol-base glass cleaners becausethese products tend to leave visible streaks.Routine Cleaning Procedure:While cleaning ensure jewellery and watchesare removed and gloves should be worn.Flood the glass surface with the spray-oncleaning solution or with a cloth saturatedwith the cleaning solution. Be generous withthe amount of solution applied.Scrub the wetted surface with a clean,lint free towel or cloth.Wipe dry with a dry, clean, lint free towelor cloth. Do not use a squeegee on thecoated (interior) surface.To prevent streaking, stop wiping when theglass is almost dry and there is a uniform filmof moisture left on the glass surface. If there are none,pick a brand that has instructions and safetyprecautions or contact the manufacturerbefore use or application.Apply a small quantity of the specialisedcleaning product listed above to a wet,clean cloth or towel.
