Thiscompetition involved up to 25 cadet teams with an advisor for each team from the faculty and theCharleston area business community. Each year $32,000 in scholarship funds was awarded to thewinning teams.1988 - 1995: Arranged for the Charleston Chapter of APICS to contribute an Honorarium in amount of$200 to $250 for a graduating Business Administration major who was entering the career field ofProduction/Operations Management.1987 - Established Student Night at the Charleston Chapter AP1CS. Ten to 15 senior BusinessAdministration majors are invited to a dinner program and have an opportunity to interact with localbusiness people.1987 - Proposed that the Charleston Chapter of APICS sponsor a membership for the Daniel Library.This proposal was accepted and APICS publications are forwarded to the library annually.Service to the StudentsAcademic Advisor for 30 Business Administration majors.1991 — present: Faculty sponsor for a team of cadets participating in the annual Conference on Ethics inDecision Making, Hilton Head Island. Approximately 125college students participate in this conference.Advisor to the Citadel Young Republicans: 1991- presentFaculty Company Academic Advisor for M Company: 1986- 1990.Service to the CommunityPro Bono Consulting is provided to two community service organizations. This committee developsthe Corporate advertising programs. The Charleston Exchange Club, owners and operators of the fair,provides over $400,000.00 annually to Charleston area schools and charitable organizations. Thisincludes an annual scholarship for The Citadel.Served as a charter member of the Berkeley Charleston Dorchester County of Governments StrategicArea Assessment Committee DefenseTask Force Committee. This group is composed of 15 businesspeople, educators, local government officials, and citizenvolunteers. The mission is to study the impact of Defenserelated activities on the future of the tri-county area and makerecommendations for future actions.Served as a member of the Business Development Council of theCharleston Trident Chamber of Commerce,1991-92.I have attended (at my own expense) three seminars dealing withinternational trade activities which were conducted by theCharleston Trident Chamber of Commerce and the CharlestonInternational Trade Center.
