O“Oh, come on, that can’t be theanswer to everything,” someone mightargue. “Jesus said those words 2,000years ago and times have changedsince then. Problems are more seriousthan they used to be. This world is in abigger mess.”I know it. That’s what’s so great aboutMark 11:22. The person who baseshis life on it never has to change hislifestyle to suit the times, the economyor anything else.Faith in God never changes becauseGod never changes. He’s the sameyesterday, today and forever!Gloria and I can personally attestto it.We first started learning how to liveby faith more than 45 years ago. I was astudent at Oral Roberts University andwe were just getting started in ministry. We needed everything back then. Wedidn’t have much of an income and, although God had called me to preach,I didn’t have a single invitation. But we’d gotten the revelation thatJesus is the Source of our life; He’sthe Supplier of all our needs anddesires. So we sat down together atthe little table Gloria had made, tookCommunion, and committed ourselvesand our ministry to The LORD.We promised Him we’d neverask for a place to preach, we’dnever preach anywhere based ona financial arrangement, and we’dnever ask or pressure anyone formoney. “LORD, You are the Sourceof this ministry,” we said. “We willgive and expect a harvest, trustingYou to meet all our needs.”That day, with a quality decisionthat changed our lives forever, wecommitted to have faith in God.While we were still praising andworshiping The LORD at our littlehomemade table, the phone rang.I answered to find it was my pastor,Brother Harold Nichols, in Fort Worth. He was calling to ask me to preach athis church a few days hence.I accepted the invitation, went toFort Worth intending to preach Friday,To have faith in God is to havefaith in his wOrd. The twocan’t be separated because Godand his wOrd are one.Saturday and Sunday—and woundup preaching a series of meetings thatlasted three weeks! We had a glorioustime and I’ve been busy ever since.Of course, that was just thebeginning for us. We’ve learned a lotmore about having faith in God sincethen (and I’m sure we’ll be learning forall eternity) but there are three thingsin particular we’ve discovered thatevery Christian needs to know.1. Have Faith in The WORDThe first is this: To have faith in Godis to have faith in His WORD. The twocan’t be separated because God andHis WORD are one. As John 1:1 says,“In the beginning was the Word, andthe Word was with God, and the Wordwas God.”To have faith in The WORD meansI believe I am what The WORD says Iam, I can do what The WORD saysI can do, and I can have what TheWORD says I can have.I found out just how important it canbe to believe those things one day justa few months after I started preaching.Gloria and I had just come home afterministering on the road, and my dad—who was handling the ministry financesat the time—greeted us with somepotentially alarming news.Handing me a strip of addingmachine paper with the figure $5,000printed on it in red, he said, “We needthis much money right now!”It doesn’t sound like a lot these days, but back then $5,000 seemed like animpossible amount. I’d never seen thatmuch money in my whole life.I immediately went into Dad’s office, turned his chair around, got on myknees and put my Bible in front of menext to that strip of paper with the rednumbers on it.Turning from one scripture toanother, I reminded myself thatGod’s WORD says He’ll supply all myneed “according to his riches in gloryby Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19).I reminded myself that Jesus said,“Whatsoever ye shall ask the Fatherin my name, he will give it you,” and“what things soever ye desire, whenye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them” (John 16:23;Mark 11:24).Then, I started reading the prayerPaul prayed in Ephesians 3:14-16: “Forthis cause I bow my knees unto theFather of our Lord Jesus Christ, ofwhom the whole family in heaven andearth is named, that he would grantyou, according to the riches of hisglory....”Faith comes byhearing The WORD,so as those wordscome out of yourmouth and intoyour ears and yourmind, they’ll producefaith in your heart. That’s about as far as I got whensomething went off in me.If God will grant me according tothe riches of His glory, I thought, I canwrite out a heavenly grant for $5,000and simply believe I receive it!Then I went back to John 16:23 andread it in the Amplified translation.“And when that time comes, you willask nothing of Me [you will need to askMe no questions]. I assure you, mostsolemnly I tell you, that My Fatherwill grant you whatever you ask in MyName [as presenting all that I Am].”Then, Mark 11:24, The Amplifiedjan '13 : BVOV : 5

Everyone started asking whathappened, and I said, “We just got ourbills paid, that’s what happened! I got agrant from heaven!”Sure enough, the money came righton in just a few days later. That wasn’t a one-time event, either.Gloria and I have been writing outheavenly grants ever since. Instead ofsending appeal letters to people andbegging for offerings, we’ve alwaysincreased the income of this ministryby putting our faith in The WORDand saying, “LORD, from this timeforward, we must have so much permonth to do what You’ve called us todo. We believe we receive it and thankYou for it, in Jesus’ Name.”Feb. 21 @ 1 pm CT Learn how to get and keep volunteers(USA Time) with guest Kim Stephenson.2. Have Faith in LoveAnother importantthing I’ve learned aboutliving by faith is this:Since “God is love,” tohave faith in God, wemust have faith in love.We must believe in thelove God has for us,and have confidencethat when we keep Hiscommand to “love oneanother,” we’ll be blessedas a result (1 John 4:8, 11).In other words, wemust believe that, in theend, love always prevails.I’ve seen the loveway win in my lifeand ministry againand again. One timemany years ago, I sawit transform one of thestickiest situations I’dever encountered. I waspreaching a series ofmeetings in a little townand things had beengoing well for a while.Ifyou’ll keepbelieving Godand operating byfaith in His Word, you’ll never haveto change yourlifestyle to suit thetimes. In a week’s time, the attendance hadincreased to about 300 people. Thatwas a big crowd in those days! One night, however, as I was preachingon the reality of righteousness, havinga great time, a woman stood up andinterrupted my message by speakingout loudly in other tongues.Although I appreciate the giftsof the Spirit, I knew right awaysomething wasn’t right. It felt likesomeone had thrown a wet blanketover the whole room.“Ma’am, would you hold that for justa moment, please?” I said. She didn’t pay any attention to me.She just kept talking on and on. In fact, she got louder. So I asked again...and she ignoredme again. Then I told her. Again, shejust got louder.I didn’t know what else to do so Ijust waited for her to finish. Then Isaid, “Well, we lost where we were inthe Spirit, so I’m just going to take thisopportunity to teach you about this....”Once again, I was interrupted, not bythe woman but by the man sitting nextto her. “Brother <strong>Copeland</strong>,” he said,“she can’t hear you. She’s stone-deaf.”I found out later, he’d been using thiswoman to destroy meetings like mineon a regular basis. He’d take her intoservices and tell her, “I’ll let you knowwhen it’s time for your gift.” Withouther ever realizing what was going on,he’d used her to disrupt the servicesof traveling ministers, turn the crowdagainst them and drive them out of town. The same thing was about to happento me. The attitude of the congregationhad already shifted. They were feelingsorry for her and mad at me. I didn’tknow what to do. I was young inministry and had never faced anythinglike this. So I did what my spiritualfathers—Oral Roberts and <strong>Kenneth</strong>E. Hagin—had taught me to do: Istopped, got quiet for a moment, andlooked on the <strong>inside</strong> of me. When Iturned inward, the word of The LORDcame to me. Call her up and lay handson her. I’ll open her ears.I never would have thought of thaton my own. I was too irritated aboutthe situation. But God wasn’t becauseHe is love.So I did what He said, He did whatHe promised, and she got healed. Shewent home that night with her hearingrestored, and the people went homehaving seen a miracle. Now, that’s what I call a greatmeeting—and it happened because Ihad faith in God and faith in love.Go the love way. It wins every time!3. Have Faith in LightHere’s a third thing I’ve learnedover the years: The Bible not onlysays, “God is love,” it also says, “God islight” (1 John 1:5). Therefore, havingfaith in God is having faith in light. It’sbelieving that:• There is nothing covered, that shallnot be revealed; neither hid, that shallnot be known. (Luke 12:2)• The Spirit of truth...will guide youinto all truth: for he shall not speak ofhimself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will showyou things to come. (John 16:13)• He that loveth his brother abidethin the light, and there is none occasionof stumbling in him. (1 John 2:10)When you have faith in light, youcan rest assured that everything youneed to know to triumph in everysituation will be revealed to you. Youcan be confident that the devil can’thide anything from you to keep youin bondage and under the curse. Youknow that because you’re a child of the6 : BVOV : jan '13

light, the wisdom of God is <strong>inside</strong> you.Personally, I found out years ago, ifI have faith in the light, I don’t have todepend on the world or the news mediato get my information (which is goodbecause they don’t know anything untilafter it happens). I can look to God andHe will show me things to come. That gives me an edge!God can take $1.50 and turn it intoenough wealth to take care of me forthe rest of my life, because He knowswhere this economy is going. He has<strong>inside</strong> information.I don’t have enough space here totell you how much—just in termsof dollars and cents—that kindof information has meant to thisministry over the years. But I can tellyou this: By giving us light about howto handle our finances, God startedpreparing us for the crash of 2008decades in advance. He taught us how to build thisministry debt free so that when peoplewith big mortgages were findingthemselves upside down, we didn’thave a care in the world. He showedus how to generate our own electricitywith natural gas that we pump fromministry property, so when energyprices went through the roof, we didn’tmiss a beat. He gave us our own waterwells and our own sewage plant. The LORD led us into those thingsso gradually, I didn’t fully realizewhat He was doing until one day Heasked me this: What would happen ifeveryone just stopped giving to yourministry?“LORD, I don’t want to think aboutthat!” I answered.I want you to think about it, He said. What would happen to the ministry?I considered all the things I just toldyou and then it hit me. Nothing wouldhappen! The bank couldn’t repossessanything we own because we don’t oweany money on it. We produce, on ourown property, all the basic services weneed to keep things going. So Gloriaand I would just grab our Bibles, hit theroad and keep on preaching. We wouldn’t have to change ourlifestyle because we’re already livingby faith!“But Brother <strong>Copeland</strong>, God doesn’tgive me the kind of light He gives you.”Yes, He does. Jesus said so. All youneed to do is start believing Him.Build your faith in the lightby taking His words and saying, “Ibelieve hidden things will be revealedto me. I believe the Holy Spirit guidesme into all truth and shows me thingsto come. I walk in the light and don’tstumble over anything.”Faith comes by hearing The WORD,so as those words come out of yourmouth and into your ears and yourGive yourfinances &your lifea boost.kcm.org.aumind, they’ll produce faith in your heart. It doesn’t matter how messy thisworld gets, or how many crises it goesthrough, if you’ll keep believing Godand operating by faith in His Word,His love and His light, you’ll neverhave to change your lifestyle to suit thetimes. He conversed with and thoroughlyevaluated him at several differentappointments and concluded thatWilliam had been misdiagnosed.”“The specialist confirmed what wealready knew!” exclaimed Delilah. They refused to be moved by whatthey saw, and believed God for peace, soundness and godly thoughts inWilliam’s mind. The battle for his mind,,We hear peopletalking about how badthe economy is, butwe haven’t suffered adownturn. During therecession, my weddingand event-planningbusiness prospered.wasn’t easy; nor was it short. Jeffery andDelilah stood in faith for years, despiteall odds, and won!No CompromiseIn 1997, Alisha, pregnant with herfirst child, invited Delilah to go withher for an exam.“I have some news,” the doctorsaid. “It looks like this child mayhave Down syndrome. I recommendamniocentesis.”“That’s a lie,” Delilah said, layingher hands on her daughter’s protrudingabdomen. “I rebuke the demon ofDown, in Jesus’ Name. This child iswhole and healthy!”The perplexed doctor watchedwith a puzzled expression as Delilahprayed in the spirit. In spite of Delilah’sinsistence the baby was whole, thedoctor pressed the family to takeclasses on how to care for a child withDown syndrome.Having taken their stand on theWord of God, they refused the classes,,Sailing the Seasand declined the amniocentesis. WhenAlisha gave birth, her daughter wasperfect—without any defect. In 2003, the USS Ponce departedNorfolk, loaded with Marines for theinvasion of Iraq. Once again, Jeffery wasin harm’s way. But this time, Delilahkept her mind and heart steadfast onthe Word of God, praying Psalm 91 andbelieving for divine protection.By the end of February, the Poncehad become the commanding flagshipof a team assigned to help cleara channel through naval mines thathad blocked humanitarian aid toIraq. Directed from the Ponce, SeaDragon helicopters towing magneticminesweeping sleds, trained marinemammals, unmanned underwatervehicles and EOD divers, swept theKhawr Abd Allah River and the portof Umm Qasr until a 200-yard channelwas declared safe. While hundreds of tons of foodand water were offloaded throughthe channel, the team spent weekswidening the safety zone. Two years later, in March 2005, thePonce sailed back to the Persian Gulfconducting operations in support ofthe War on Terrorism. All the while,Delilah lived in peace, standing on theWord with her confidence in God.The favor of God rested on Jefferyand he earned the coveted rank of chiefpetty officer in the U.S. Navy.Heavenly Grant“In 2009, we attended the D.C.Victory Campaign and <strong>Kenneth</strong><strong>Copeland</strong> instructed everyone towrite a prayer of petition for what webelieved to receive from God,” Jefferyremembers. “He said our requests hadto be God’s will, and each one shouldhave written alongside it the scripturethat backed our right to claim it.He said we could petition God for aheavenly grant.“Back home, we went upstairs andmade a list of everything we needed.I had retired from the Navy and wewanted to move to Atlanta and neededto sell our home. There were manyhouses in our neighborhood which hadbeen for sale for months or years. Somewere in foreclosure.“We based our petition on Mark11:24 which says, ‘Therefore I say toyou, all things for which you pray andask, believe that you have receivedthem, and they will be granted you’(New American Standard Bible).“We petitioned the Lord for newwindows, new doors, new landscapingand everything we needed to get ourhouse ready to sell. We petitioned Godto be out of debt and for a heavenlygrant in the amount of $125,000. Wesigned and dated the petition, andcalled KCM asking them to agree withus for the money.”Faith’s RewardA year later, in 2010, money arrivedfor new windows. Jeffery and Delilahinstalled hardwood floors. Theyreplaced doors and paid for newlandscaping. Finally, they put theirhome on the market.Their realtor, who had been inthe business for 20 years, gave themthe grim details. Sales were dismal.People weren’t buying. The economyhad tanked.10 : BVOV : jan '13

Refusing to be discouraged,Jeffery and Delilah said, “We onlyneed one buyer. Just watch, ourhouse will sell fast.”During the three months thehouse was on the market, their realtorannounced, “The Helms have set a newrecord.” She’d never shown a singlehouse to 30 different couples! The 30th couple bought it.With over 40 items on their prayer ofpetition, Jeffery and Delilah watched inawe as God brought each one to pass. When a check for $125,000 arrived, they shouted for joy—praising God allthe way to the bank.“We paid our tithe and thenplanted offerings into the kingdom ofGod as seed,” Delilah says. “We paidoff all our debts, bought a car for mysister and paid cash for it, and helpedour children and grandchildren. We’dbeen so excited to become Elite CXTeam members with KCM, and wewere able to pay that vow in full. Itwas thrilling!“We hear people talking about howbad the economy is, but we haven’tsuffered a downturn. During therecession, my wedding- and eventplanningbusiness prospered so muchwe had to turn brides away.”Eyes That See by FaithNow living in Atlanta, Jefferyand Delilah enjoy being near theirgrandchildren and know they’reimparting faith to a new generation.Last year, Delilah walked outside tomeet the school bus and was surprisedwhen the driver shouted, “Come here!Your granddaughter can’t see!”Groping as though in the dark,Arissa said, “The vision on the sidesof my eyes is dark! I can only see inthe middle!”“Father, in the Name of Jesus, Idecree and believe for perfect visionin these eyes!” Delilah prayed andimmediately told Arissa to confess,“Thank You, Jesus, I’m healed!” as thesides were getting darker. The doctor examined Arissa andsighed. “I don’t know what’s wrong. Ifher symptoms get worse, take her tothe emergency room.”The following day, Delilah urgedArissa to keep repeating, “Thank You,Jesus, I’m healed! Thank You, Jesus,I’m healed!”“You are healed, Baby.”“I know I’m healed, Grandma, butthe walls are pink.”“The walls are white, Baby. Keepthanking Jesus that you’re healed.”“Grandma, your pants are black.”“No Baby, my pants are white.”Following the doctor’s orders,Delilah drove Arissa to the ER. There, the doctor ordered a series of tests.God had orders of His own. Layyour hands on her head! ObeyingGod’s instruction, Delilah laid herhands on Arissa’s head and declaredher healing.“Grandma, are the walls white?”“Yes, Baby.”“Are you wearing a red dress?”“I am.”Every test came back normal. Onthe way home from the hospital thefew lingering symptoms fled. Today,Arissa’s vision is almost perfect—shebarely wears the glasses she had wornfor years.“Our family is blessed,” Delilahexplains. “William is off almostall his medication and is livingon his own. I took a walk withAlisha recently and told her, ‘I’mso thankful God connected mespiritually with <strong>Kenneth</strong> and Gloria<strong>Copeland</strong> when I was just a teenager. The foundation of our spiritual liveswas built through partnership andthe revelation God gave them. You wouldn’t know it bylooking at most Christians, but it is. junk. Jesus already did it. He alreadydefeated him. As long as we walk infaith our victory is inevitable.Second Corinthians 2:14 says itthis way, “Now thanks be to God whoalways leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragranceof His knowledge in every place” (NewKing James Version). Why, then, don’t more believers livethat way?I can answer that question withone word.Fear.Fear has contaminated the faith offar too many of God’s people. Fearhas robbed them of their victory anddeceived them into accepting defeat atthe hands of a conquered foe.Fear has deprived countlessbelievers of the great adventure of theChristian life.It has reduced them to living frompaycheck to paycheck because they’reafraid if they tried something newthey’d fail and lose what little theyhave. They’re afraid to go out and layhands on the sick. (After all, what ifnothing happens? says the voice of fear. What if the person doesn’t get healed?)They’re afraid of launching out intothe deep waters of life and becomingfishers of men, so they settle for goingto work, coming home, watchingtelevision and going to bed. It’s thesame thing every day...no one evergets saved, no one ever gets filled withthe Holy Ghost. They just barely gettheir bills paid. They fix one thing andsomething else breaks. As born-again children of God, wedon’t have any business living like that!We should be the most outrageouslydaring people the earth has ever seen.We ought to be doing the impossible byfaith every day. We should be turningthe world upside down for Jesus andhaving the time of our lives! An Age-Old Promise Fulfilled“Oh, Brother <strong>Copeland</strong>,” you mightsay, “I’d love to do that. I long to live thatway more than anything in the world!”Then I have good news for you.You can!Jesus has already done all that isnecessary to enable you to do it. Hehas already conquered fear. He hasstripped it of its power over you. He hasset you free. That’s the thing the devil hasn’twanted us to know. He has wantedus to think we have to struggle alongtrying to manage our fears. He’swanted us to believe that we have toput up with them…and cope withthem…and try to overcome them. But they have already beenovercome by Jesus Himself. Hehas redeemed us from fear. In fact, according to The WORD, that wasa primary part of His mission as ourSavior. He came not only to save usfrom sin, sickness, death and hell—Hecame to save us from fear itself. We can see that in Luke whereZacharias, the father of John theBaptist, prophesied about the comingof the Messiah. Notice carefully whathe said about Jesus:Blessed is the Lord God of Israel, for He has visited and redeemedHis people, and has raised upa horn of salvation for us in thehouse of His servant David, as Hespoke by the mouth of His holyprophets, who have been sincethe world began, that we shouldbe saved from our enemies andfrom the hand of all who hate us,to perform the mercy promised toour fathers and to remember Hisholy covenant, the oath which Heswore to our father Abraham: Togrant us that we, being deliveredfrom the hand of our enemies, might serve Him without fear, inIt is absolutely essential that you understand this. You are not just an oldsinner saved by grace.Your old man died thedeath of the Cross.holiness and righteousness beforeHim all the days of our life (Luke1:68-75, NKJV).Freedom from fear isn’t a new idea. It’s not something we thought uprecently because we need an answerfor modern-day terrorism. The Biblesays the prophets have been talkingabout it since the world began.Thousands of years ago, God swore toAbraham that through his Seed thepower of fear would one day be broken. When Jesus went to the cross, Hefulfilled that promise. He paid the priceso we could serve God without fear allthe days of our lives. He destroyed fear’shold on us so we can stand up by faith inHim and be forever free.Disconnected From Death…Connected to LifeUntil Jesus came, the only manwho had ever walked the face ofthe earth totally free from fear wasAdam. He was originally created inthe very likeness of God and he hadwithin him the very attributes ofGod Himself. The divine nature thatis full of love, joy, peace, goodness, meekness, kindness and patienceflowed freely in Adam. But whenhe sinned allthat changed.Spiritual deathcame and pervertedthosedivine forces.Every one ofthem turnedinto the exactFollow Uson Twitterfor short, timelymessages from<strong>Kenneth</strong> & Gloriatwitter.com/<strong>Copeland</strong>Network

opposite of what they hadbeen. Love became hate.Faith became fear. Peacebecame torment. Why?Because by submittinghimself to Satan, Adamdisconnected himselffrom the life of God andconnected himself insteadto the nature of the devil.Satan himself literallybecame Adam’s god.Adam didn’t intendfor that to happen. Heand Eve thought theycould just be gods untothemselves. (That’s whatthe devil told them theycould do.) But that wasimpossible. Although manis created in God’s image,he was not created to bespiritually sovereign. Hemust have a spiritual overlord. That’s aninescapable fact. Many people today still don’t realizethat. They think, There’s God…andSatan…and then there’s me. But thereare just two spiritual families in theearth—God’s and Satan’s. Everyone inthe world is under the lordship of oneor the other. But thank God, by saying “Yes” toJesus and receiving Him as our LORDand Savior, we can change families. We can be delivered from the powerof darkness and transferred into thefamily of God (Colossians 1:13-14).When we do that, somethingwonderful happens. We are bornagain or, as Ephesians 2:10 says, weare “created in Christ Jesus.” We areactually made “a new creation; oldthings have passed away; behold, allthings have become new. Now allthings are of God, who has reconciledus to Himself through Jesus Christ…”(2 Corinthians 5:17-18, NKJV).Think of it this way. Just as Adamwas born again from life to death whenhe made Satan his lord, we were bornYou don’thave anybusinesswearingthose old,religioussin-tagsanymore.You don’thave anybusinesstalkingabout whata sorry,no-goodsinneryou are.again from death to lifewhen we made Jesus ourLORD. Just as Adamwas separated from Godand connected to Satanin his rebirth, we wereseparated from Satan andreconnected to God in ournew birth. The moment we wereseparated from Satan, allthose things in our spiritthat sprang from himdied. Hate died. Lustdied. Fear died. At thatsame moment, we werereconnected to God andthe divine nature sprangto life within us. Theattributes of God—love, joy, peace and all theother fruit of the spirit—began to flow in our spiritslike a fountain. For you to walk in the victory andfreedom from fear that belong to you asa believer, it is absolutely essential thatyou understand this. You are not just anold sinner saved by grace. Your old mandied the death of the Cross. The sinnature you inherited from Adam wascrucified with Christ (Galatians 2:20).It is dead and gone! Now you are achild of the living God. You have Jesus’own nature and life within you.You don’t have any business wearingthose old, religious sin-tags anymore. You don’t have any business talkingabout what a sorry, no-good sinneryou are. If you’ve been born again, you are no such thing. You are a newcreation made alive with the life ofGod Himself!Check Engine Now!Where there was once a fountainof fear on the <strong>inside</strong> of you, there isnow a fountain of faith. The devil can’tpump fear into your spirit anymore. He doesn’t have access to it. It’ssealed by the Holy Spirit unto God(Ephesians 1:13).The only way the devil can getfear into you is by feeding it to yourintellect. He must try to get it into yoursoul (your mind, will and emotions) bytalking you into receiving it and actingon it. Even if he is successful in doingthat, he’s still at a disadvantage becausethat fear will never take root in yourborn-again spirit. It has nothing to holdit in place. So the minute you rise upand start walking in the love of God,that love will wash the fear away. That’s an amazing thought but it’sabsolutely the truth. The WORD ofGod tells us that love will actually flushfear out of our souls!First John 4:18 says, “There is nofear in love; but perfect love casts outfear...” (NKJV). The words translatedcast out there literally mean “to flushout.” When you begin to exercise thelove of God and the tide of love beginsto rise, it just doesn’t leave any placefor fear to reside. And since faith worksby love, the higher the tide of loveflows, the stronger your faith becomes.Eventually, you get to the place whereall the fear is flushed away! The problem most believers havehad, however, is this. They’ve let fearcreep into their lives a little at a timeand over the years, they’ve gotten usedto it. Fear has become such a normalpart of life that they’re blind to it. As aresult, they don’t do what’s necessary toflush it out. What can we do about that? The lastpart of 1 John 4:18 gives us the answer. It says, “There is no fear in love; butperfect love casteth out fear: becausefear hath torment. He that feareth isnot made perfect in love.”Whenever we sense any kind oftorment in our lives, it’s a signal to usthat we have some fear there. If there’storment…there’s fear. And according tothis verse, if there’s fear, it’s a sign wehaven’t developed the love of God inthat area.“Yeah, but Brother <strong>Copeland</strong>….”Don’t start with the “Yeah buts.…”It’s the truth. So instead of arguing20 : BVOV : jan '13

about it, put it to work for you. Thinkabout it this way and you’ll see how.Whenever you sense torment abouta situation, it’s like the red “CheckEngine” light blinking on the panel ofyour car.If you pay attention to that light anddo something about it, it will help you.But if you just keep driving alongthinking, I wonder what’s wrong withmy engine? you’ll end up in big trouble. After that light has been blinking forabout three months, you’ll find yourselfstranded on the freeway blamingthe automobile manufacturer for adefective car!and my family. Heavenly Father, John17 says You love me just as much as Youdo Jesus Himself. And I receive thatlove right now. I know Your love hasbeen shed abroad in my heart by theHoly Ghost and I thank You for it.”Don’t do it just once or twice either.Do it every time you begin to sensethat torment. The moment it arises, immediately—immediately!—moveover into the love of God.Then start finding ways to manifestthat love toward others. Go findsomeone to love somewhere. As you do,that love will begin to grow.Keep that up and the processof flushing fear out of your soul willcontinue until you reach the placewhere there’s no fear there at all. You’llbegin to live the fear-free lifestyle Jesusdied and rose again to give you. Just asthe prophets foretold, being deliveredout of the hands of your enemies, youwill serve God without fear all the daysof your life. You can get up every morning witha gleam in your eye, ready to bring thesaving, healing, delivering power ofThe LORD Jesus Christ to a lost worldthat is waiting to receive it.Your life will truly become the greatadventure God intended it to be.Get the GleamBack in Your EyeObviously, it’s not the manufacturer’sfault. They installed that red light toget your attention. You should havedone something about it the first time itblinked at you.The same thing is true abouttorment. Every time you notice a flutterof anxiety in your mind or a knot ofworry in your stomach, it ought to belike a flashing red light to you. Themoment you catch yourself thinking afearful or worried thought, you shouldstop right then and deal with it.Don’t just go on and on thinking,Oh, I don’t know where my kids are.I hope they’re not doing drugs. I hopethey don’t get out there on the freewayand get themselves killed....Stop these thoughts immediately.Start talking to yourself and say, “Waitjust a minute here. The Scripture sayshe that fears is not developed in love.So I’m going to stop this fear right nowand get over into the love of God beforeI get myself in trouble. I’m going topurposely disconnect from this fearand connect up with love.”Then just start worshiping andpraising The LORD over His greatlove for you. Remind yourself of it andreceive it by faith. y Jerry SavelleUnderstanding God’s FavorIfthere’s onething that hasblessed me morethan anythingelse over my 40 years ofministry, it’s the revelationI’ve received about walkingin the favor of God.I’ve come to understand thatwhen I consistently declare the favorof God over my life, extraordinarythings happen. I’m not talking aboutan occasional surprising occurrence;I mean that extraordinary thingshappen on an almost daily basis.I have seen the favor of God opendoors for me that no man couldshut. I have received preferentialtreatment in matters ranging fromthe mundane to the astonishing. Ihave witnessed God’s favor changerules, regulations and policies, whennecessary, to get me exactly where Godwanted me to be. Having seen the favorof God work so powerfully in my ownlife, I can assure you it will bring youthrough even the toughest times andthe most overwhelming circumstances. The New King James Bible identifiesPsalm 102 as: “A Prayer of the afflicted, when he is overwhelmed and pours outhis complaint before the Lord.” Thepsalmist begins, “Hear my prayer, OLord, and let my cry come to You. Do22 : BVOV : jan '13

not hide Your face from me in the dayof my trouble; incline Your ear to me; inthe day that I call, answer me speedily”(verses 1-2). He gets right to the pointwith God, doesn’t he? To paraphrase,he’s saying, “God, I need an answerfast. Don’t talk to me about beingpatient; I need to hear from You, and Ineed to hear from You, now.”The psalmist goes on to say,For my days are consumed likesmoke, and my bones are burnedlike a hearth. My heart is strickenand withered like grass, so that Iforget to eat my bread. Becauseof the sound of my groaning mybones cling to my skin. I am like apelican of the wilderness; I am likean owl of the desert. I lie awake, and am like a sparrow alone on thehousetop. My enemies reproachme all day long; those who derideme swear an oath against me(verses 3-8, NKJV).This man was in a situation where notonly were his enemies coming againsthim, but other people were also madat him. Things had gotten so bad hewas unable to make it through the daywithout weeping. The trial he was goingthrough was so consuming it stayed onhis mind 24 hours a day.Oftentimes when we’re in the midstof a trial, the problem we’re facingbecomes so overwhelming that weforget our covenant with God. As aresult, we become problem-mindedrather than being solution-minded. Thepsalmist apparently struggled with thissame tendency:For I have eaten ashes likebread, and mingled my drinkwith weeping, because of Yourindignation and Your wrath; forYou have lifted me up and castme away. My days are like ashadow that lengthens, and Iwither away like grass. But You,O Lord, shall endure forever, andGod’s people did not experiencevictory because of their own might. The land that had been promised to them byGod became theirs because of God’s favor.the remembrance of Your name toall generations. You will arise andhave mercy on Zion; for the timeto favor her, yes, the set time, hascome (verses 9-13, NKJV).Notice that although this man wasinitially overwhelmed by his adversity,in the midst of his cry to God heremembered that he was entitled toGod’s favor. The reason he knew hewas entitled to favor is that he was acovenant man, and in declaring thatthe set time for God’s favor hadarrived, he became a solution-mindedcovenant man. When we choose to enter intocovenant with God, we no longerhave to fight our own battles; His favor will enable us to attainvictory over every situation andcircumstance. God’s people did notexperience victory because of theirown might, their own strength, ortheir own power. The land for whichthey had believed—the land that hadbeen promised to them by God—became theirs because of God’s favor.I’m not saying that just because weare in covenant with God, we willnever have to fight a battle of faith. I’mnot a novice: I know how to believeGod, I know how to walk in faith, andI know how to overcome adversities.Yet there have been times when I’vebeen through lengthy battles thatI should have won long before I did.My problem was that I had let therevelation of God’s favor slip. Otherswho find themselves engaged in longtermstruggles may simply not yet havereceived this revelation.Often, when the battle is long, andpeople do not see their prayers beinganswered when and how they want themto be answered, they blame God. I’vebeen asked, “Brother Jerry, why isn’tGod listening to me? Why isn’t He doingsomething? What’s the problem?”My answer is always, “God is notthe problem. The problem is a lackof understanding.” Most of the time, the reason we experience delays inour prayers being answered is thatwe do not have a right understandingof the favor of God. Without anunderstanding of the favor of God, wewill not appropriate it and confess it ona consistent basis. What Is the Favor of God?In order to understand the favor ofGod, we first need to know the meaningThere have been times when I’ve been through lengthybattles that I should have won long before I did.of the word favor. The term has fourmain definitions. The first definitionof favor is “something granted out ofgoodwill.” In other words, the favorof God is granted out of His goodwilltoward us. It’s not something that canbe bought, and it’s not something thatcan be earned. In the most profounddemonstration of this kind of favor,Jesus willingly went to the cross on ourbehalf—not because we deserved to besaved, but because God chose to showus mercy (see Romans 5:8). Becauseof the price Christ paid, we are nowentitled to walk in God’s favor from dayto day. Many times, this kind of favor ismanifested through God giving us thedesires of our hearts. For instance, I have always lovedjan '13 : BVOV : 23

Then there wereRoger Maris, Whitey Ford and,of course, Yogi Berra. Oh, howI dreamed of going to New Yorkto watch the Yankees play! Butfor many years, it seemed likethis Louisiana boy’s dream wouldnever come true.Decades later, in the summerof 1994, I was in Canada priorto attending a scheduled meetingin New Jersey. I had a couple offree days before I was to preach,so I flew into New York City tospend time with some friends attheir home. After having dinnertogether Friday evening, theyasked if there was anything Iwould like to do the following day.“Yes,” I said, “I want to gosee the Yankees play.” Then Itold them about my childhooddream of seeing Mickey Mantlein person at Yankee Stadium. Ofcourse, by then Mickey Mantlewas no longer playing ball, but I still wanted to watch theYankees play.“I don’t even know if they areplaying tomorrow,” my friend toldme. “They may be on the road, but I’ll check and see.”A short time later, while I wasin the guest room unpackingmy bag, I heard the sound ofsomeone running in the hall; aftera few more seconds, my friendand his wife appeared at the door.“Brother Jerry,” he said, “you beatanything we’ve ever seen.”“What do you mean?” I asked. He explained he had just calleda man he works with—a Yankeefan whose season tickets wereon the front row of the box seatslocated right over third base. “TheYankees are in town tomorrow, and my co-worker wants you to behis guest for the game.”I smiled to myself as Ithought about the favor of God.But then my friend added, “Andguess what? It’s Old-Timers’Day, and Mickey Mantle isgoing to be there!”I went to sleep that nightthinking about the goodnessof God and thanking Him forgetting me a ticket to see MickeyMantle in Yankee Stadium. The next day, as I sat in the boxover third base with my Yankeecap on, it was 1957 again and Iwas that little boy at YankeeStadium. So many of the oldtimersI grew up watching ontelevision were there in person:Joe DiMaggio, Whitey Ford andmy own hero, MickeyMantle. It was a day I willnever forget, because itwas a day on which Godfavored me with Hisgoodwill and fulfilled a deepseateddesire of my heart. When we feed on God’sfaithfulness and favor, it is onlynatural that the desires of ourhearts will be fulfilled—includingthose desires we have held closesince childhood. The second definition of favoris “a gift bestowed as a token ofregard, love or friendliness.”Have you ever asked someone,“Would you do a favor for me?”What you’re actually asking is:“Would you bestow a gift ora token of our friendship?”That’s what a favor is—a tokenof friendship. Not too long ago, a Christianbusinessman who also happens tobe a friend of mine approachedme after a worship service. Hesaid, “Brother Jerry, I really needyou to pray over my business. It’s falling apart, and to behonest with you, without God’ssupernatural intervention, I’mgoing to lose it.”I had known this man for anumber of years. He was a titherin his church, and he supporteda number of ministries. He wenton to tell me that it wasn’t justhis business that was at stake;his home and all of his personalproperty were also at risk.“Brother Jerry, I know Godgave me this business, and Hehas blessed me and my familythrough it. This is an all-out attackof the devil.”When my friend said that, thecompassion of the Lord Jesusbegan to rise up in me. I took hishand and heard myself pray inan unexpected way. I said, “LordJesus, as a favor to me, intervenefor my friend.”I can’t think of a time I had24 : BVOV : jan '13

ever prayed like that before. I usuallybegin my prayers with “Father, in theName of Jesus,” and then I quote theWord. But not this time. All I did wasask the Lord Jesus to do something as afavor to me.Three days later, I got a call from myfriend. When I answered the phone,he exclaimed, “Man, I’m telling you,I don’t know what you did or said, butGod came through with a supernaturalbreakthrough!”When I asked the Lord why Hehad moved so quickly in behalf of myfriend, He said, Because you asked Mefor a favor. The third definition of favor is simply“preferential treatment.” We’ve alreadydiscussed the fact that we have thefavor of God; according to His Word,we also have favor with man: “But letyour heart keep my commands; forlength of days and long life and peacethey will add to you. Let not mercy andtruth forsake you; bind them aroundyour neck, write them on the tablet ofyour heart, and so find favor and highesteem in the sight of God and man”(Proverbs 3:1-4, NKJV).I have found that when I consistentlydeclare God’s favor over my life, Ireceive preferential treatment from allkinds of people. When I was in high school, I lovedworking on cars; my ambition wasto own my own business and spendthe rest of my life on a racetracksomewhere. I also dreamed of goingto the Indianapolis 500, but that wasanother youthful longing that wentunfulfilled—until several years ago.I got a call from a friend ofmine who is a deputy sheriff inMarion County, Ind. He wasplanning a special meetingfor people who lived inIndianapolis’ inner-city housingprojects—an area strugglingwith high rates of crime, druguse and prostitution—and he wantedme to participate in the gathering. Ofcourse, I agreed to go, and as it turnedout, we had a great meeting.Afterward, my friend said, “Brother$I have found that when I consistently declareGod’s favor over my life, I receive preferentialtreatment from all kinds of people.Jerry, I want you to come with me tothe sheriff’s office, because there’ssomething we want to do for you.” Sowe got into his cruiser and off we went;I had no idea what they had planned, but it was fun getting to ride in thepatrol car. When we entered the building, I wasasked to go into a small room and standin a certain spot so that they could takemy picture. Then my friend told me towait for a few minutes, and he would beright back. I thought, Dear God, whathave I done?In a little while, my friend came backto get me. He escorted me to a roomAs a Christian, you’re not in this alone. You can factorin God’s favor in all you do! It will impact everythingin your life from your relationships to your day-to-daybusiness. the title of honorary deputy sheriffentitles you to certain privileges,” thesheriff explained. “Is there any place inIndianapolis you would like to go?”Without hesitating, I said, “Yes, sir, there’s something I’ve been wantingto attend since I was a kid—theIndianapolis 500.”The sheriff said, “Well, we can makethat happen. We’ll pick you up in asquad car and take you right in to thegate; you won’t have to fight the crowd.Just show your badge and you can getin to anything you want.”I would have been totally happy justbeing in the stands somewhere andhearing the roar of engines, but Goddoes exceedingly abundantly above allwe can ask or think. The following Memorial Day, justas they had promised, they picked meup in a squad car and drove me to theIndy. With more than half a millionpeople already there, the crowd waspretty intimidating. But the sheriffdrove me right up to the gate leadingto the garages, where the cars anddrivers were.I stepped out of that squadcar, walked up to the gate andshowed the guard my badge. Helet me through the gate, and I wentstraight to the garages, where Igot to meet the drivers and watchtheir teams tune the enginesbefore the race. But there’s more.I didn’t get to go to the Indy justonce; I’ve been many times sincethat first race I attended. I havemet the drivers, I’ve been allowedto sit in the cars, and I’ve beenright there with them up until afew minutes before hearing thosefamous words: “Gentlemen, startyour engines.”The fourth definition of favor is“advantage.”Having an advantage means havingsomething working for us that othersdo not have working for them. Forbelievers, that something is the favorof God.When my wife, Carolyn, andI bought our first home in FortaboutWorth, we experienced just this kindof favor. It was 1974, and we hadbeen renting a house while I workedas an associate minister for <strong>Kenneth</strong><strong>Copeland</strong> prior to launching out intoour own ministry. Before we moved to Fort Worthto work for Brother <strong>Copeland</strong>,Carolyn and I had owned severalhomes in Shreveport. We had goodcredit and funds from the sale ofour last house available for a nicedown payment, but as far as alender was concerned, launching aministry was the same as startinga business, which meant we didn’tqualify for a home loan.We had learned how to liveby faith, and we knew God wouldmeet all of our financial needs. But the mortgage company wantedsomething more specific regardingwhere our support would be comingfrom. They also said we would needa co-signer.Carolyn and I had found the housewe knew God wanted us to have, and we informed our realtor thatdespite what the mortgage companysaid, the house would be ours. Whenhe called a few days later to tell usthe seller had accepted a contractfrom a couple that was qualifiedfor financing, I told him, “I am notmoved by what I hear.” He askedwhat on earth I was talking about, and I told him that according to Mark11:23, I could have whatever I said, and I was saying that house was goingto be mine.Even though there was a contracton the house, and the other couplewas well qualified, Carolyn and Icontinued to believe that somehowit would be ours. We would driveby the house and talk about whata wonderful time we were going tohave raising our kids there. Then, just a few days beforethe other couple was scheduledto close on the house, our realtorcalled again. “Mr. Savelle, I don’tunderstand what just happened, but the other couple has decidednot to take the house. All I know isthat they said they felt like it wasn’tmeant to be theirs. I don’t knowwhat you and your wife have beendoing or saying, but apparently thisreally is your house.”“I’ve been trying to tell you that fortwo months,” I said. “The lease is upin two weeks on the place where we’vebeen living; you and the mortgagecompany need to get to work on ournew place.”The day before we had to be out ofour rental house, I called the realtorto let him know we were prepared tomove into the new house the followingday. He said, “You can’t move into thathouse. You don’t have loan approval, nothing’s been signed and it’s not yours.”“Well, Carolyn and I believe we’llbe moving out of here and into thathouse tomorrow,” I said, “so you’dbetter get busy.”Later that evening he called again.“I’ve never seen anything like this inmy life,” he told me. “I just got theowner’s approval for you to go aheadand move in tomorrow.”That’s just what Carolyn and I did,and we didn’t give another thoughtto the paperwork or the mortgagecompany’s requirements or whatanyone told us we could or couldnot do where buying that house wasconcerned. We knew that was thehouse God wanted us to be in, whichmeant we had the advantage.I want you to know that God changedall the rules and all the policies, and wefinally bought that house. When we have the favor of God onour lives, we’ve got an advantage. We’vegot something on us, around us andwith us that others don’t have. Life getsmore and more exciting every day whenwe understand that we have the favorof God, because we begin to expect iteverywhere we go.This article was adapted from the book The Favor of God by Jerry Savelle. Everything Hehas and every victory He’s won belongto you. He’s redeemed you from thecurse and given you THE BLESSING.Through Him, you are connected toeverything you need to enjoy success, satisfaction and increase in every areaof life!Sometimes, as believers, we forgetjust how awesome that is. We forgetwhat life was like before we had thatconnection. I don’t mind telling you, forKen and me it was a mess.Neither of us was born again whenwe married, so it didn’t take long forus to start making mistakes. A lot ofthem were financial, so we soon foundourselves in a desperate situation. Wedidn’t have any money, and we were indebt. We were living in a leased housewith no furniture, no refrigerator andno stove. We were in debt.Ken had gotten a new job and we’dexpected to buy those things withall the money he was going to make.and I thought it was very good news.I needed a lot of things added to me!Eager to find out more, I looked upMatthew 6 and began reading. When Igot to the part where it said God caresfor the birds enough to feed them, arevelation hit me.If God cares for birds, He caresfor me!That one glimmer of spiritual lightwas enough to convince me to givemy heart to Jesus. “Lord, take mylife and do something with it,” I said. And with that simple prayer, I gotborn again even though I didn’t knowabout the new birth, nor understandwhat I had done.Faith Opens the DoorShortly afterward, Ken was bornagain, too. Right away things began toget better. We started learning aboutthe Bible. We got baptized in the HolySpirit and began to follow His leadings.Ken realized he was called to preach. We don’t know exactly what wonderfulthings He has in store for us until westep out by faith and do what He says. You Are A Prophet Of Your Own LifeBrother <strong>Copeland</strong> reveals:• How the power of confession can change your world• The key way to enrich your faith• How you can choose a great future• Where worry comes from and how you can stop itPurchase this months “One to GrowOne to Sow” offer and we will giveyou another of the same productfree to pass on to a friend. To become a Partner of to find out more aboutPartnership contact the Ministry onkcm.org.au | 1300 730 433 or+617 3343 7777 | NZ 0800 903 100Offers and prices valid until 31 Jan 2013.But not much money showed up. Sofor months, all we had was a rentedrollaway bed, a cardboard box onthe porch that we used to keep ourgroceries cool (thankfully, it was fall),and a coffee table Ken made in highschoolshop class.I had no idea how we were goingto get out of that situation. It lookedhopeless. But one day I was walkingaround the house looking forsomething to do and I picked up theBible Ken’s mother had given him forhis birthday. Opening it, I noticed whatshe’d written in the front.Ken Precious,“Seek ye first the kingdom of God,and his righteousness; and all thesethings shall be added unto you.”Matthew 6:33I’d never read that verse before,We even moved into an apartment thathad appliances! But because we didn’t yet knowanything about faith, we had no ideahow to get out of our financial hole. Sothe bills just kept piling up.Then God told Ken to enroll in OralRoberts University.Although he wanted to obey theLord, Ken couldn’t see how it wouldwork. He was 30 years old, had a familyto support, a staggering amount ofdebt, and no money in the bank. Howcould he afford to move to Tulsa andbecome a student?“Gloria, we’ll starve if we do that!”he told me.“We’re starving now,” I said. “Wemight as well starve in the will of Godas outside of it!” (That was brilliant, wasn’t it!)28 : BVOV : jan '13

That turned out to be the right thingfor me to say at the time, but here’swhat I didn’t realize: We wouldn’tstarve if we stepped out in faith andobeyed God, because faith is whatconnects us to His blessings. It’s thebridge between the natural and thesupernatural.Faith—which is simply finding outwhat God says, agreeing with Him anddoing what He says to do—opens thedoor to God and welcomes Him intoour lives. In the Old Testament, Godexplained it to the Israelites this way:“If you fully obey the Lord your Godand carefully keep all his commandsthat I am giving you today.... Youwill experience all these blessings...”(Deuteronomy 28:1-2, New LivingTranslation). Why does God want us to obeyHim? Is it because He’s just hard to getalong with and always wants His way?No, it’s because His way works. Hisway connects us to life and blessing, while disobedience connects us todeath and the curse.Even so, however, He won’t forceus to do what He says. He lets usmake the decision. He says to us, asHe said to the Israelites, “I havegiven you the choice between life anddeath, between blessings and curses.Oh, that you would choose life, thatyou and your descendants might live!”(Deuteronomy 30:19, NLT).I may not be the smartest person onearth, but I’m smart enough to knowthat if I can choose between THEBLESSING or the curse, I’m going totake THE BLESSING!That’s what Ken and I did when westepped out by faith, packed up ourfamily and went to Tulsa. Granted, itdidn’t look like a very smart move atfirst. The house we rented there—Ithink it cost $60 a month—was reallybad. The walls were peeling so horriblythat <strong>Kenneth</strong> <strong>Copeland</strong> actuallypainted them. (That is serious! He’snever painted anything since.)What’s worse, it looked to Ken asif his aviation days were over. He waspassionate about flying, but he’d givenup his job as a commercial pilot so hedidn’t have a plane to fly anymore, andhe was broke. It may sound like we were once againin a hopeless situation. But we reallyweren’t, and here’s why:We were connected! That became clear the first dayKen started classes at ORU. Unawarethat students weren’t allowed to gosee Brother Roberts uninvited, Kenwent to his office and paid him a visit.Miraculously, no one stopped him.The next thing you know, he hada job as Brother Roberts’ co-pilot,flying the finest airplane he’d everflown in his life! The job didn’t pay much moneybut it put him in every one of BrotherRoberts’ healing crusades. YourWord says, “Whosoever shallcall on the name of the Lordshall be saved” and “If thoushalt confess with thy mouththe Lord Jesus, and shaltbelieve in thine heart that Godhath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved” (Acts 2:21;Romans 10:9). You said mysalvation would be the result ofYour Holy Spirit giving me newbirth by coming to live in me(John 3:5-6, 15-16; Romans8:9-11) and that if I wouldask, You would fill me withYour Spirit and give me theability to speak with othertongues (Luke 11:13; Acts 2:4).I take You at Your Word. Iconfess that Jesus is Lord. Hagin decided to hold aseries of 10-day seminars just acrosstown from us. (As far as I know, it’sthe only time he did that.) At thoseseminars we learned about the integrityof God’s Word. We learned how tobelieve it, speak it and act on it.It was awesome! Yet we had no ideabefore we moved to Tulsa all thosethings were going to happen.Get In on God’s Great PlanThat’s the way it is for all of us in ourwalk with God.We often don’t know in advancewhat great blessings are on the otherside of our obedience to Him. We don’tknow exactly what wonderful things Hehas in store for us until we step out byfaith and do what He says. What we do know, however, isthis: God has a plan for every oneof us. It’s a great plan! It includesprosperity, healing, peace, well-beingand everything else we need to live asatisfying life.“But Gloria,” you might say, “howcan I be sure of that? What if Goddoesn’t want to bless me like He’sblessed you?”He does! The Bible says so.It tells us from Genesis to Revelationthat God’s plan is, and always hasbeen, to bless His people in every way. That’s why in the Garden of EdenGod provided Adam and Eve witheverything good and nothing bad. Theyhad plenty of food, perfect weather andlots of gold. They were BLESSED!Of course, they messed thingsup pretty quickly. Disconnectingfrom THE BLESSING throughdisobedience, they brought the curseon all mankind. But God refused toleave things that way. He sent Jesus toredeem us from the curse and restoreTHE BLESSING (Galatians 3:13-14).He sent us a Savior so we can all live inthe fulfillment of scriptures like Psalm91:16 where God says, “With long lifewill I satisfy him, and show him mysalvation.”Satisfied in every area of life! That’swhat the Lord wants you to be. Butwhat connects you to that satisfactionis faith. Without it, some things mightwork out for you, but there will alwaysbe problems you won’t know how tosolve. Bad things will happen and youwon’t know what to do about them. Youwon’t have an answer.Don’t get me wrong. I’m not sayingthat when you’re connected, badthings won’t ever happen in your life.Sometimes they might. But when theydo, you’ll have an answer for them. You’ll be able to change them with theWord of God.Don’t Break the ConnectionIf you lost your job, for example, likemany people have in recent times, youcould believe God for another one.You could turn to Psalm 34:10 and say,“Lord, according to Your Word, thosewho trust in You will not lack any goodthing. A job is a good thing! So I’mnot going to be concerned about this. Iknow You have a great job for me andI ask You to show it to me. I believe Ireceive the perfect job right now, inJesus’ Name.”Actually, you can conquer anychallenge that arises in your life bygoing to the Word and getting the,,

answer to it. If you’ll believe, speakand act on that answer, you can keepwalking forward with God, listeningto and being led by the Spirit untilwhatever you need crosses the bridgeof your faith, from the supernaturalrealm into the natural, and manifestsin your life.“But I’ve filled out dozens of jobapplications and no one wants to hireme!” someone might say. “I’ve beenwithout a job for months now. I’mafraid I’ll never find another one.”Well, that’s your problem rightthere. Your words are breaking yourBLESSING connection. You’re talkingfear instead of faith. You’re talking thecurse instead of THE BLESSING.In Mark 11:23, Jesus said:“Whosoever shall say unto thismountain, Be thou removed, and bethou cast into the sea; and shall notdoubt in his heart, but shall believethat those things which he saith shallcome to pass; he shall have whatsoeverhe saith.”Notice, that verse doesn’t mentionyour pastor, your mother or anyoneelse. It doesn’t tell you that you’ll havewhatsoever they say about you. It saysyou’ll get whatever you say about you! That’s one of the first things Kenand I learned from Brother Hagin theyear we lived in Tulsa. He taught us, “Ifyou’re not satisfied with what you have, change what you’re saying.” So we did.We changed our words and changedour lives. That’s the reason we’re asblessed as we are today.Of course, to straighten out ourwords we had to straighten out ourhearts and our thinking. The Bible says,“Out of the abundance of the heartthe mouth speaketh” (Matthew 12:34).So I made a decision back then tospend time in God’s Word every day.I realized I’d have to keep it in frontof my eyes and in my ears to keep myfaith strong; I’d have to put it first placein my life and obey it if I wanted towalk in victory. The same thing is true for you. Faithcomes by hearing the Word, so thebest thing you can do is take time dailyto read your Bible and pray. Get upearlier, if necessary. You can do withoutsleep, but you can’t do without faith. One of our dear friends in ministry,Brother R.W. Schambach, used to saythis many years ago: “You don’t haveany problems. All you need is faith!”That’s as true now as it has everbeen. So remind yourself of it often.Every time you watch the news ontelevision, remember that you don’thave to be moved by all the negativereports. You don’t have to worryabout recession, depression, inflationor anything else. You don’t have tobe concerned about what happens onWall Street. Those things can’t overcome THEBLESSING that’s on your life.
