Cost is $15 per session.First session starts June 11 th and ends June 27 th . 2 nd session starts July 9 th5 on 5 Youth Flag Football League is back. Season starts August 12 th . This is a non-contactsport and a non-blocking and non-tackling league.Cost is $50 per player, which includes: T-Shirt, mouth piece, and end of season award.Magic basketball coaches and staff will be putting on a fundamental basketball camp.Camp dates: July 9 th and July 11 th . Time of camp will be 6pm to 7:30pm on both days.Cost $ 25 per child. Camp includes: Practice time, Magic T-Shirt, and prize give away.Ongoing/yearlong basketball practices start in July. We will be starting a new set date inJuly. Locations of practice will be North County Rec. Center and North County MiddleSchool. Cost of academy is $10 per month, payment due the first practice of eachmonth. If a child makes 4 sessions in a row, they will receive a T-Shirt. Join Magicbasketball year round and work on fundamentals to get better and improve your game.Great way to stay in basketball shape. This program is hosted by the Magic basketballcoaching staffs. Games will be played on Turf Field at Sports Complex.Youth Basketball season will start up in late November or early December. Cost TBA.Season will run to mid-February. Cost $5 per class.Dog Training Classes 18 & UP Continuous On Wednesday nights the Dog Training Club of Salinas Valley comes to the NCRC forbeginning to exhibition dog training sessions. The North County Recreation and Park District is approximately 46 square miles, composed mostly of farmlands and estuaries. Castroville, Elkhorn, Moss Landing, Oak Hills andRancho Moro Cojo residential neighborhoods lie within the District’s boundaries.The North County Recreation and Park District was formed in 1954 as a special district from a local voter initiative. Recreation and Park Districts provide recreationalopportunities as a local government function within a specific boundary and provide services at the highest levels of accountability and responsibility to the public. Our district isgoverned by a board of directors (5), appointed for fixed terms, and are directly accountable to the public. Directors are members of the community and are continuallyinteracting within the framework of community agencies and activities.Funding for the District comes from the following sources: property taxes (a percentage of the “one percent” property tax); program fees and charges; assessment districts;local, state and federal grants; and donations. The North County Recreation and Park District maintains and operates the following recreational facilities and parks:The North County Recreation Center and Center Park is located at 11261 Crane Street and is the hub of the District.The Center has an indoor basketball court, meeting room, a large kitchen, a large BBQ pit. The Center is the home ofthe Castroville Senior Center, After School Programs, and the North County Farmers’ Market. The Center is open tothe public at no charge during regular hours (9am-6pm). You can play a variety of sports in the gym area. Sportsequipment and games can be checked out through the office. The meeting room is open for specialty classes andhomework. The Center Park hosts a children’s play area, basketball courts (2), a community skate park, and a lawnarea.Cato Phillips Park is located on Wood Street in Castroville. This is a park with a basketball court, play area, and picnictables.Crane Street Park is located at the end of Crane Street overlooking the artichoke fields on the East Side of town. Thispark has a children’s play area, a picnic table with a BBQ pit, and a large grass area. It is the home ofthe Jr. Giants Program, our PONY League, Youth Soccer, and Flag Football Leagues. It is also utilized via rental by thecommunity for tournaments, youth football practices, and soccer practices. Please note: Use of this facility requires asigned release of liability permit & a fee. OPEN USE dates for community access will be posted based upon fieldavailability and may be subject to change.Japanese School House is located at 11199 Geil St. This historical building has been recently renovated is available forsmall gatherings, meetings and classes.Rancho Moro Cojo Park. This park has a baseball diamond, practice soccer field, children’s play area, picnic tablesand BBQ pits.
