The Jupe Patent Dining TableAn extending dining room table. Theswivel action top is formed of eightspin-out, triangular segments withadditional leaves to expand the tabletop, which is raised on a substantialcentre turned pillar and four turnedcolumns on a concave platform base.The handmade internal capstanaction and inset corners are of solidbrass.The original was patented by RobertJupe (at the time an upholsterer), of 47Welbeck Street, Cavendish Squarein March 1835. A Magnificent DeskA fine and important mahogany androsewood cross banded Partners’pedestal desk of magnificentproportions, with gilt highlighting tothe carved decoration, the mouldededge top with three inset tooled redleather writing surfaces, on eachside above three frieze drawers andtwo oval panel cupboard doors eachenclosing six drawers hand-letteredin gold.
