The Memorial Walkway Project: 3rd Annual Dedication October 7, 2010
The Foundation, Seasons of Life Hospice and the Parma Hospital Pastoral Care
Department supported the establishment of a community driven tradition in 2008. The
Seasons of Life Memorial Walkway Dedication includes a reading of the memorial names
engraved on bricks, benches and trees donated during the previous year. A Celebration of
Life reception completes the ceremony and assists reflection, healing, fellowship and
meaningful commemoration of the lives gently cared for by Seasons of Life.

Fund
combines the
passions of
the late Ms.
George and her family.
Barrie George was a Valley
Forge High School
Graduate and throughout
her life a pioneering
advocate for women's
sports, pushing for
adequate facilities and
opportunities for the
female athlete. Her
interests combined with the
long term commitment of
her family, Dr. Robert and
Mrs. Christine George, to
the Parma Hospital Health
Care Foundation, led to the
establishment of The
Barrie George Memorial
Scholarship Fund. The
fund provides $ 1, 000
every-other year, opposite
the David Stuchlak
Memorial Funds made possible by Donors
Memorial Fund, for the
Valley Forge Student
(See article on the
Renaissance Service
Awards, page 6).

David Stuchlak was part of
the first graduating class of
students who completed
their entire high school
career at Valley Forge
High School. Mr. Stuchlak
went on to become an
active community citizen,
participating in many civic
organizations that
improved community life.
Among the numerous
organizations that Mr.
Stuchlak supported, he is
particularly remembered by
his friends for his
leadership in the Parma
Area Chamber of
Commerce and the Jaycees.

inspired his friends, Mr.
Chuck Germana and Mr.

The Matthew Thomas
Fund
Renaissance Service Award
for a Holy Name Student
Matthew Thomas died of a
heart condition while
employed as a therapy
attendant at Parma
Hospital. He is fondly
remembered by his coworkers
for his kindness.
His parents originally
requested that his memorial
donations should be given
to the Foundation for use in
a one-time scholarship for
a 2007 Holy Name High
School student accepted
into a college or university
therapy program. When a
recipient was not
identified, the family
considered other options,
finally determining during
summer 2008 that the
Scholarship fund would
support the Holy Name
High School student named
in the Renaissance Service
Awards.
