Coach Smith served 18 years as Head VarsityBoys Basketball coach and has been the Head Varsity Girls BasketballCoach for seven seasons. In his first year, he led the Lady Saints to aRegional Basketball Championship title and TSSAA State Runner-Uptitle. Coach Smith believes that players are made in the off seasons asthey work to develop their skills. Campers willspend the week with Coach Austell learning his inside tips on improvingtheir running speed for their sport. Areas of emphasis will includethe following: Speed Drills and Mechanics, Acceleration and StartingDrills, Maximum Velocity Drills focusing on increasing the athlete’sstride length and frequency, and Multi-Directional drills. Campers willalso have the opportunity to work out with some of the top speedtraining aids on the market, including speed sleds and bungee cordsfor overspeed. Campers will also get insight into some of the newest,most effective training studies on the market.2223
