P AGE 6Over seventy families joined the Wood ParkWalk to School on June 6, 2013. The one milewalk began at Hoyt Farm and ended at WoodPark, where the children enjoyed bottledwater and stretches. We would like to thank Mrs. Saltzman, theSmithtown Board, Commack Transportation, and the Suffolk County Police for theirsupport and cooperation.*For those children entering Kindergarten and Grade 2, remember to have physical forms completed,(dated, signed and stamped by your physician), by the beginning of the school year. (If your child ishaving a camp physical, the doctor can fill out the school physical at the same time.) MAKE SURE YOUKEEP A COPY FOR YOURSELF SO IF YOU NEED A COPY, YOU WILL HAVE IT.Don’t forget to apply sun block to your children (and yourselves). Even when the sun is notshining brightly, there are still ultraviolet rays that may cause sunburn. Reapply sun block as needed.WalkDrink plenty of water, this is important for your skin and to keep you well hydrated.Find some time to take walks in your neighborhood or at the beach as a family. It willteach children that fitness is important for everyone, and it is a fun, inexpensive thing to do.Please remember water safety this summer. Always have adults watching children when they are inthe water.*KIDDY POOLS ARE NO EXCEPTION*Bicycle helmets are very important for children in order to protect their heads incase of fall. Please be sure the helmet is a safe one, the right size and fit for yourchild.Have a very happy and safe summer!!
