GENERAL EQUIPMENT SPECIFICATIONS1. One engine, with a maximum displacement of the cc limit.2. Maximum allowance noise level shall be 99dB for WNYMA sanctioned events. TheStandard MIC/SAE J1287 sound test will be the district standard test.3. Gasoline only. Octane boosters will be permitted.4. All motorcycles shall have: a frame, wheels and axles, handlebars, proper working controls,forks, gas tanks, fenders, manual transmissions, exhaust systems, and tires perapproval of the WNYMA. Motorcycles will have no sharp protruding objects. No studdedtires will be allowed. Kickstands must be removed and any lights and/or gauges must betaped. All glass or plastic must be taped.5. Number plates must be securely mounted. Numbers must at least 5” for 100cc and below.6” or higher for anything larger than 100cc bore. Numbers must of standardtype block lettering, and appear on each side and front of the motorcycle. Backgroundand number plate colors shall be as follows:BLACK BACKGROUND WITH WHITE NUMBERS.PW50’s, 51cc 4-8, 51cc 6-8, 65cc (7-9), 80cc, Beginner and NoviceYELLOW BACKGROUND WITH BLACK NUMBERS.Amateur, 65cc (10-11)WHITE BACKGROUND WITH BLACK NUMBERS.Expert****If you are the overall winner for your class from the previous year, you may choose to ridewith a red background*****PRO NATIONAL RIDERS HOLDING A CURRENT LICENSE:These backgrounds and numbers take precedence over WNYMA regulations.However, somewhere on the number plates a small “n” must be displayed in acontrasting color.6. Re<strong>com</strong>mender—Helmet numbers or Numbers on Backs: All riders must display theircurrent rider numbers. Helmet numbers must be at least 3” high and be in contrast to thehelmet color, and riders must visibly display their number on their backs. This rule will bestrictly enforced. It is the rider’s responsibility to be sure their rider number is displayedvisibly and clearly for scoring purposes. If the rider is not riding their WNYMA designatednumber, it is the rider’s responsibility to notify the sign up personnel with the signup form that day or the rider will be disqualified for that moto.Permanent riding numbers assigned by the WNYMA will take precedence in case ofduplications. Big bike numbers have precedence over mini-bike riders moving up.National numbers will be accepted one week before and after the National event.7. Mechanical Gate Starts:1. A rear marker should be placed no more than 8 ft. behind the starting gate drop bars.2. A rider must keep his rear tire in front of and off of any established rear marker. In theevent there is no rear marker, the front tire must not be more than 12 in. from the startinggate drop bar.3. Bikes must be lined up on the straight section of the drop bar. Lining up between thedrop bars will not be allowed.4. In the event of a breakdown in equipment, the referee will coordinate a flag start.False starts:1. An official must be stationed at the side of the course, under orders of the starter orReferee2. In the event of a false start, which will be indicated to the starter by a prearranged signal,the starter will display a red flag to stop the race as soon as practical.PROTESTS1. All disqualification’s and/or penalties shall be made by the head Referee and upheld bythe promoter. The referee’s decision is final.2. Protests may be filed in writing within 30 minutes after the protested moto results areposted and must be ac<strong>com</strong>panied with a $10.00 fee for standard protests or $100.00 forprotests involving tear-downs. If the protest is upheld, fees will be returned to the protestingrider. If the protest is overruled, the $10.00 will be forfeited to the WNYMA and the $100.00fee will be split between the protested rider and the WNYMA.3. Protested bikes will be torn down after the second moto along with the protestee’sbike.If a rider needs to file a protest, the rider will need to fill out a protest sheet and fill itout prior to speaking with the referee. How to calculate your finish:Your 1st moto finish + your 2nd moto finish = your score. The rider with the lowest scoreis awarded 1st place overall. The rider with the 2nd lowest score is awarded 2nd placeoverall, and so on. (I.e. 28 riders start; 26 riders <strong>com</strong>plete an entire 6 lap moto, 1 rider <strong>com</strong>pletesonly 4 laps, and 1 rider <strong>com</strong>pletes only 3 laps. The rider who <strong>com</strong>pleted 4 lapswould be given 27th place and the rider who <strong>com</strong>pleted 3 laps would be given 28thplace.If you <strong>com</strong>plete less than 1 lap and do not pass the scorekeepers in the first moto youwill be scored as last place plus. (You must have started the race to be scored.) In thesecond moto, however, you must <strong>com</strong>plete two full laps with or without power and passthe scorekeeper twice to be scored in that moto or you will be given a DNF and nopoints for that moto.Any class that has over 40 riders must be split. The heats will consist of taking the top16 from each heat to go to the main. A consolation race will be run for advancement tothe final heat for rider’s that did not qualify from the heats. The top 8 will be taken fromthe consolation race. This will be a two-lap format. There are NO separate trophies/points given for a consolation event. All riders’ that qualify for a final heat, either fromthe original qualifying heat OR through a consolation, enter the final event with theiractual 1st moto finish.In the event of a one moto format, you will be scored on the one moto finish.All races will be given points per moto. In the event of a cancellation of the 2nd motos,points will be awarded for both motos as if the rider placed the same in both motos.New in <strong>2013</strong> Pro Points <strong>Form</strong>at. Series plus advancement points will continue to collectand will carry over.Points are totaled per series for overall series awards. All three series are totaled togetherfor overall year-end awards. PRIZES AND PRIZE MONEY1. It is re<strong>com</strong>mended that the promoter give one (1) award for every three (3) riders withup to maximum of 13 positions paid back for amateur riders.2. Prize money for Expert /Vet/Master’s classes will be paid per moto at the ratio of 1 for2. It is re<strong>com</strong>mended that the promoter pay back one (1) place for every two (2) riderswith up to a maximum of 20 positions. The total minimum pay back for both motoswill be as follows:Rider sign-up Pay back0-175 100%176- 275 150%276+ 200%The Vet/Master’s class will be set at 100%.3. The distribution of trophy and expert pay back may be posted prior to the start ofthe second set of motos.TRACK RULES1. Local Zoning Board approval is necessary before a new track may apply for sanctioningin the WNYMA. Application for sanctioning must be made prior to thepromoters meeting to be eligible to choose dates for the following season, andproof of approvals must be evident.2. New tracks must be inspected and approved by one or more WNYMA rider representativesor Referees at least 6 weeks prior to their first sanctioned event.If the Referee finds a major track problem which cannot be corrected that day, hewill notify the WNYMA and the Board of Directors.
