It’s estimated it willneed two million tons of coal (imported from South Africa)per year to run when completed.Côte d’Ivoire:Temporary power supply solutions provider Aggreko hasannounced the expansion of its power project in Côte d’Ivoirewith the addition of 100 MW of generating capacity. Withthis, the total combined output from the power project isexpected to reach 200 MW, injecting what the company sayswill be vital capacity into the local grid.Djibouti:evaluate and develop a 60 MW wind power plant, which theysay will bring added value to the development of thecountry’s resources.Ghana:General Electric signed a MOU with the Ghanaiangovernment to build a 1,000 MW power plant in the country,aimed at supporting the nation’s power generating capacity.The target of the Ghanaian government is to generate a totalof 5,000 MW of power by 2016.
