Introductions / RéamhráAs Mayor of County <strong>Doneg</strong>al, I am delighted towelcome this very special 25th. edition of the <strong>Earagail</strong><strong>Arts</strong> <strong>Festival</strong>. Founded <strong>by</strong> <strong>Doneg</strong>al County Councilin 1989, the <strong>Festival</strong> has acted as an annual, highprofile focus for the very best of contemporaryand traditional, local and visiting arts, for the past25 years. The Council is especially mindful of theconsistent financial assistance of The <strong>Arts</strong> Council,Údarás na Gaeltachta and The British Council fromthe outset, and in more recent times the invaluablesupport of Fáilte Ireland who have recognised andhelped it realise its very significant tourism potential.The <strong>Festival</strong> has benefited too from the input of a richvein of artistic partners over the years which togethershowcase the vibrancy, depth of imagination andcommunity focus that characterises the cultural sectorin the county today.
