LTA OPEN TOURNAMENTSVETERANS OPEN DOUBLES TOURNAMENTOn 10th April 2000, <strong>Milford</strong> Country <strong>Club</strong> held its first Over 60/Over 45 Doubles Tournamentorganised by Harold Popplestone <strong>and</strong> his committee of Noel Baptise, Carol Dunning <strong>and</strong>Linda Havers. At the end of the week prizes were presented at a Disco, Banger & Burger BBQSupper. Competitors hailed mainly from local clubs. The event has grown <strong>and</strong> the 2012 Tournamentattracted players from across the south of Engl<strong>and</strong> as well as a good representation from <strong>Milford</strong>,Hampshire <strong>and</strong> Dorset.The 13th Tournament will be held from 15th to 20th April <strong>2013</strong>.WINNERS OVER 45 *<strong>Milford</strong> <strong>Tennis</strong> <strong>Club</strong> MembersMens Ladies Mixed2009 R. MullallyLTA JUNIOR OPEN TOURNAMENT“The <strong>Club</strong>’s first Open <strong>Tennis</strong> Tournament was held for three days from 27th August 1929 <strong>and</strong>resulted in a profit of £14. It continued annually soon incorporating juniors. In 1935 the Lawn<strong>Tennis</strong> Association wrote to the <strong>Club</strong> saying the tournament had not received their sanction.
