2013 Convention EventsBroadway Arrives On The Bourbon TrailToday “On The Bourbon Trail” refers to the Kentucky distilleries and entertainment establishments wherethe very best Kentucky bourbons can be sampled. In the 1920’s during Prohibition “On The Bourbon Trail”referred to some of the well-known gangsters who came to Louisville in search of illegal bourbon for theirspeak-easys in Chicago, and other cities. They were said to be “on the bourbon trail.” An example was AlCapone, who had his own private entrance and exit from the Seelbach Hotel in Louisville, just in case heneeded to make a quick get-away. Both in the 1920’s and today the one thing that the famous BourbonTrail lacks is Broadway entertainment.Who better to bring Broadway to The Bourbon Trail than our own Johnnie Benson?
