House and Academy CouncilThis term has seen the House Council election which has led to the election of some new faces…butalso a few old ones. The House councils meet twice a term and is overseen by their Head of Houseand the students input has contributed greatly to the Academy’s development and progression.The process has been very successful and we are now in the final stages of nominating the AcademyCouncil from the nominated house students. Good luck to all who are standing and let’s hope we canbuild on all the positives of last year’s success.CareersFlying Towards Their FutureStudents from Year 11 were invited to spend a morning at British Airways Headquarters at Waterside,Heathrow to discover the kind of careers and apprenticeships offered by the company. OnWednesday 2 October, eleven of our students spent the morning working with students from otherschools plus staff from British Airways and Learning to Work, completing a range of activitiesdesigned to help them find out more about specific job roles within the airline.
