Its stronghold in the maritime industry canbe contributed to its specialized manufactory technology, which produces high quality products at a low cost. A wholerange of products can only be made with their uniquemanufacturing machinery, developed over many years ofexperience (such a product is the YDFT-1000-4(450)STEERING GEAR SYSTEM MODE, the biggest in the world).Mr. John Papazafiriou having a friendly chat withMr. Jung-ho Kwon (President of YOOWON Industries Ltd.)All the company’s products are produced in accordancewith the standard for all ship classifications such as A.B.S.,D.N.V., L.R., G.L., B.V., and K.R..Also the company has obtained the international standardASME U & PP code, the ISO 9001 and most recently the ISO14001.FRANMAN JOINS UP WITH KSP ASTHEIR AGENT IN THE PROMOTIONOF ENGINE VALVESIn October 2002, Franman became K.S.P. representative inthe promotion of engineK.S.P. By usingmodern facilities they are able to produce top qualityproducts which save the customers from anyunforeseen costs. The factors that contribute to KSP success can besummarized into four points:1. KSP specializes in valves.2. KSP controls the whole manufacturing process, fromthe supply of raw material to the finished product.3. KSP valves have a uniform structure, while the valvesof other companies are composed of more than onecomponent, thus having a weaker structural integrity. As Mr. J. Papazafiriou join hands with Mr. H. C. Park,(Managing Director of KSP) so does Franman join KSP in ahopefully long lasting co-operation.4. Speeds range from regular speed (HDRS)to super speed (HDSS).The hydraulic system of each crane hasbeen greatly simplified, thus making maintenanceand repairs by the crew easier. The mostimportant feature of these new cranes is the newdeveloped shock prevention software they use. With this new system, hoisting is restricted to lowspeed until the load is detected and measured, and then speed is increased to the correct speedfor the specific load. This is especially useful duringgrab handling, where high stress shocks to cranesfrom over-slacked wires are frequent. From left to right: Mr. C. J. Amendments to Chapter XII of SOLAS willrequire water ingress alarms to be fitted in the cargoholds as well as in some other spaces and tanks. For these new requirements Consilium US hasthe solution. Consilium’s Water Ingress Alarm System isfast and easy to install. By using Metritape sensors asalarm sensors in cargo holds, ship-owners need to installonly one sensor per hold (less cost, easy maintenance) asits design enable it to be installed on the cargo hold’scenterline, or as close to it as possible. Also with thisunique advantage, Consilium’s Water Ingress AlarmSystem eliminates to a great extent unintentional alarmsbeing activated by the ship’s rolling or listing.Kyma AS Huge Successin the Greek Shipping MarketKyma AS has been the leading Norwegian makerin the production of marine performance monitoringsystems for more than 25 years.
