Mazel TovFishman-Wiener Wedding, June 16, 2013Rachel Fishman – Daniel Wiener120years ago, Rachel’s greatgrandparents, Sam Felsen andLena Lebovic, left Europe, cameto America and settled in <strong>Denver</strong>; and thefamily has been here ever since.Paul and Susie are cousins, Paul’s maternalgrandmother, Lena, was the only one of hersiblings who was fortunate enough to leaveEurope. Consequently, Susie’s grandparentswere murdered in Auschwitz but her parentssurvived and immigrated to the US in 1951,where Susi was born.When Paul was in his last year of medicalschool, he was doing an externship inBrooklyn. He took time to visit his newcousins and ended up marrying Susie Lebovic.Daniel’s grandparents were relativelatecomers, arriving in the US twenty yearsafter the Felsens, settling in Detroit. Daniel’sparents met in college and moved to suburbanWashington, DC where Dan attended theBerman Hebrew Academy.Rachel and Daniel met at the University ofMaryland and obtained degrees there. Rachelalso earned a master’s degree from theRochester Institute of Technology.In 2008, Rachel represented the State ofMaryland in a painting display at the WhiteHouse, where her outstanding work is part ofthe White House permanent collection.Dan has a single brother, Ari, living inBethesda. Rachel has a sister, Lena, married toDani Benel and a brother, David and wife,Shira. Each couple has two children and theyall live in <strong>Denver</strong>. The kallah also has a singlebrother, Ben, who is a student at BostonUniversity.After the wedding, the young couple willreside in Starkville, Mississippi where Rachelwill pursue a degree in veterinary medicineand Daniel will continue in his position withhis firm, Living Social.May the chatan and kallah be blessed with along and happy life and bring naches to theirfamily, friends and Klal Yisroel.Jack Greenwald


Mazel TovShmuli TesslerBar Mitzvah CelebrationJune 15, 2013This <strong>Shabbat</strong>, we celebrate the Bar Mitzvah ofShmuel Yehuda (Shmuli) Tessler, son of Dr.Heidi and Carl Tessler, Esq., and grandson ofFreda and the late Stanley Tessler; and Audreyand the late Jacob Weiss. Shmuli’s fatherserved two terms as President of <strong>EDOS</strong>.Shmuli is the youngest of eight children andfollows in the footsteps of his older siblings,all of who grew up at <strong>EDOS</strong> and celebratedbecoming Bar and Bat Mitzvahs here. All butone of the children are present and they are:Ari, Ben (and his wife Stephanie), Rebecca, Eli,Shira and Chaya. Daughter Rachel, herhusband Rabbi Chaim Zev Grossman andtheir four children live in Yerushalayim andcouldn’t be here; but they send their love.Shmuli attends the DAT school, where he willenter the 8 th grade this fall.Although we are proud to see Shmuli assumehis adult responsibilities, we will miss hisleading of the concluding tefilot at <strong>Shabbat</strong>and Yom Tov services.Shmuli would like to congratulate brother Ariupon his graduation from D.U. Law School,sister Rebecca upon her graduation from SternCollege, sister Shira upon her graduation fromBeth Jacob High School, and brother Eli uponhis graduation from Yeshiva Lev HaTorah inIsrael. He adds a special Mazel Tov upon theengagement of his sister, Rebecca, to BenPollack.Shmuli is grateful that both of hisgrandmothers are here to share in his Simcha.Shmuli thanks all those, from near and far,who are here to celebrate his Bar Mitzvah.
