Ref 5674A brave but unfulfilled concept,the ‘K’ Class submarine wasfir<strong>st</strong> promoted shortly after the<strong>st</strong>art of the Great War, in late19<<strong>st</strong>rong>14</<strong>st</strong>rong>. Regarded as ‘<strong>st</strong>ate of theart’ at the time, the primitivetechnology available failed tomatch the Royal Navy’srequirements and the ‘K’ Classsuffered several disa<strong>st</strong>ers in its9-year lifespan.
