Storytory:Ken works as a mechanic at a motorcycle repair shop, but this is just a front for his true profession as a hit man for theyakuza. Tired of the killing, Ken has decided to hang up his guns once and for all. But the underworld does not let go of itspeople easily. Akira, a fellow gang member and mentor to Ken, has been coming around trying to convince him to staywhile repair shop owner Yoko urges him to go on the straight and narrow.Tsuyoshi is a troubled youth whose parents died in a car accident. Angry at Ken for trampling on the rosebuds he leftwhere his parents died, Tsuyoshi attacks Ken at the repair shop with a homemade stick of dynamite. After subduing theboy and learning of his predicament, Ken decides to take him under his wing.Faced with an ultimatum from his yakuza boss – a mysterious figure he has never met – Ken must decide the course hisfuture will take. With his guns and motorcycle, Ken sets off with Tsuyoshi for a final confrontation against his formergang that will decide once and for all who lives and who dies.About the Production:A <strong>Road</strong> <strong>Stained</strong> <strong>Crimson</strong> was inspired by the music of Snake on the Beach, a solo project of Japanese singer andguitarist Yusuke Chiba. A founding member of Thee Michelle Gun Elephant, one of Japan's premier rock 'n' roll groupsbetween 1991 and 2003, Chiba currently fronts the group The Birthday. In the film, Chiba performs in the fictionalband The Golden Wet Fingers along with backing members Tatsuya Nakamura, a former drummer of Blankey JetCity, and Akinobu Imai of The Birthday.Staff Profile:Director / Tetsuhiko NonoNono has been supporting Chiba’s band, Thee Michelle Gun Elephant, a Japanese garage rock band as a general manager,and first produced a feature film “Thee movie” in 2009, which was a great success, enjoying a long theatrical run inJapan. And with this film, A <strong>Road</strong> <strong>Stained</strong> <strong>Crimson</strong>, inspired by the music produced by Chiba, Nono finally launches hisfeature film debut.Music Director / Yusuke ChibaBorn in 1968, Chiba started his career as the singer for the Japanese band Thee Michelle Gun Elephant. He formed theside-project Rosso in 2001, and when Thee Michelle Gun Elephant disbanded in 2003 he continued with Rosso, until hestarted the band The Birthday in 2006. And in 2012, he formed a new band “Snake on the Beach”. Most music he wrotefor the band is used in the film.Cast:A <strong>Road</strong> <strong>Stained</strong> <strong>Crimson</strong> boasts a collection of rising young actors and well-known actors.In the pivotal role of Ken is Hirofumi Arai in his first leading part since The MatsuganePotshot Affair (2007). A popular actor, he has been a recognized face in Japanese cinemasince his debut in 2001. His recent work includes a role in Takeshi Kitano’s Outrage(2012) and the internationally acclaimed Confessions (2010). In A <strong>Road</strong> <strong>Stained</strong> <strong>Crimson</strong>,he drives the hard-boiled character at full throttle.Rounding out the main cast is Jun Murakami (Yakuza Weapon, Himizu) as Ken’s de-factobig brother Akira. Playing Yoko, the owner of the repair shop where Ken works, is JunFubuki (Charisma, From up on Poppy Hill).
