Sizes to fit a wide range of modularfittings up to 1200 x 600mm.Recessed luminaires or modular light fittingsare widely used in commercial buildings. Eachceiling is subject to fire regulations and whereapplicable the ceiling construction needs to befire rated. When a ceiling tile is replaced by arecessed luminaire, the integrity of the ceilingsconstruction and its ability to perform in a fireare reduced significantly. To combat thisAstroflame, as part of its continuing developmentof passive fire protection solutions, hasdeveloped a Recessed Luminaire Cover for usein 30 and 60 minute fire rated ceilings.Areas Of Use: The Luminaire cover has beendeveloped to provide maximum protection forceilings where fire resistant tiles have beenreplaced by light fittings.The cover has been designed to allow for easeof fitting. It is self locating and cannot befitted incorrectly. It incorporates ventilationslots to reduce any potential for heat build upin the light fitting. In a fire situation the coversintumescent materials expand to fill all the slotswith a fire resistant highly insulating char,preventing the fire from penetrating the ceiling.The cover also gives additional insulationprotection to the ceiling void reducing thechance of ignition of accumulated dust andinsulation. The cover is unaffected by moistureand is non toxic.
