She has been part ofthe United Players / Centrestage Family since 1980, beingpart of the team that made the transition between the“Old Hall” and our current theatre.In that time Jill has been a sought-after Production Manager,the Theatre Manager and is now the most popular person atCentrestage - the Bar Manager.In 2012 Jill was awarded a Merit Award by MTNZ (MusicalTheatre New Zealand), for her services to Theatre.One of Jill’s favourite theatre memories was whenSouth Pacific was held in the “Old Hall” - where budgets weretight, and creativity was essential. To get the effect of a planetaking off Ron Handford fixed two pairs of lights to a rope andhauled it up to the top of the stage - combined with soundeffects, it felt as though the plane had taken off over theaudience.
