Rule 10. Forging Notes/Documents – Students shall not provide falseinformation to school officials and/or parents or guardians with regard to anyreport card, attendance matter, grades or progress reports, discipline matters orany other school business.ConsequencesElementary Middle School High SchoolUp to 3 days OSS. Up to 5 days OSS. Up to 5 days OSS.Rule 11. Open Lunch Compliance – Students shall comply with the rulesrelating to open lunch for seniors. Students in any other grade and any seniornot having parental permission to participate in open lunch are forbidden fromleaving campus for lunch, and seniors are forbidden from aiding, inducing ortransporting an underclassman not authorized to participate in open lunch.ConsequencesElementary Middle School High Schooln/a n/a Up to 3 days OSS.Rule 12. Arson or Making or Possessing Explosive or Incendiary Devices,Exploding Firecrackers or Igniting Similar Devices, Causing a Fire orCommitting Arson – Students shall not make or possess firecrackers, explosives,pyrotechnic, incendiary (capable of producing flame or fire) or smoke-creatingdevices or materials or facsimiles thereof, including matches or lighters. In theevent that a device is discovered, it shall be confiscated and not returned to thestudent. N.C.G.S 115C-391(d1) mandates a 365-day suspension for studentsin possession of dynamite cartridges, bombs, grenades, mines, or powerfulexplosives.Students shall not explode firecrackers or ignite pyrotechnic, incendiary orsmoke-producing devices or cause any fire whether or not there is an intentto commit arson or other crimes involving fire or explosion at any time whilea student is at school in any school building and on any school premises,attending school-sponsored activities, on or about any school-owned oroperated vehicle, off school property at any school-sponsored or schoolapproved activity or function or during any period of time when students aresubject to the authority of school personnel and at any time when the student’sbehavior has a direct and immediate effect on maintaining order and disciplineand protecting the safety and welfare of students and staff.Students shall not set fire to anything unless directed to do so under thesupervision of a teacher or administrator for educational purposes.30 <strong>Guilford</strong> <strong>County</strong> <strong>Schools</strong>
