ESLStudy Group SuccessBeatrice, Ayoung, Aljean, Irene and Nancy (pictured left with Ms Christina Kolodij) allwanted to pursue a career in nursing. These five students faced an enormous challengewhen they enrolled in the pre nursing course at TAFE this year.All five girls had the added challenge of being ESL students; however their commitmentand dedication has paid off and they are all on the pathway to a great future innursing.It was my pleasure to see them overcome the challenges and language barriers theyhave had to face in their education with enthusiasm as they kept their goals in sight. I wish them good luck for the future.- Christina KolodijHealth NurseHealth ManagementPANADOL CONCERNSPlease be advised that the Health Centre doesn‘t routinely stock Panadol. Panadolwill only be given to students in an EMERGENCY and with consent from their parents/guardian.It is far more important to investigate WHY you may have pain than automaticallyresort to painkillers. For example: It has been noted that many students have beenpresenting with headaches and requesting Panadol, however when asked if theyhave had anything to eat or drink the reply is often NO. It is extremely important tofeed and hydrate your body in order for it to function effectively! One of thecommon side effects of dehydration is a HEADACHE! You should consult your doctorif your headaches or pain persists. Taking a painkiller for headaches or migraines too often or for too long can actuallymake the headaches worse.
