The IT experience andexpertise <strong>of</strong> new committee member,Neil, was greatly appreciated duringlong discussion regarding various issuesassociated with moving data from ourcurrent website to Webforce 5. Neil, Johnand Bob will liaise to arrange a meetingwith Webforce 5 staff in a couple <strong>of</strong> weeks.TreasurerSteve confirmed he is fully complying withthe model rules in his role as treasurer.He is completing registration procedureswith CommBiz and ING to establish andupdate signatures and change contactdetails with institutions to the club addressand club email addresses instead <strong>of</strong> privateaddresses and private email addresses. Thiswill enable a smooth transition in thefuture from one committee to another andhopefully avoid difficulties.Meeting closed at 9.40pmGeneral meetingMinutes <strong>of</strong> <strong>BMW</strong> <strong>Motorcycle</strong><strong>Club</strong> <strong>of</strong> Vic Inc meeting21 January <strong>2013</strong> at 8.00pmat Doncaster <strong>BMW</strong>Vice President, Bob Rosenthal, chairedthe meeting in the President’s absence.Bob welcomed all to the first meeting for<strong>2013</strong>, wishing them a good year ahead.Approximately 50 members in attendance.Apologies: Peter Mathews, ColinRandall, John Eacott, Neil Davey.Visitors: Rosco Richards, aQueensland club member livingin northern NSW was welcomed.New Members: Steve Mackay R100RS,Rod Paykel G650GS, Bill HaytonTrevor Michie was warmly welcomed backto club following about 12 months up north.Minutes:Ian McKenna moved, seconded byAxel Leonhardt, that the November2012 meeting minutes be accepted.Ron Matthews moved, seconded byRod Threlfell, that the December 2012minutes be accepted. All in favour.Bob advised that it was a great pleasurefor him to advise that the committee hadappointed Neil Davey to the position<strong>of</strong> captain to replace Neville Hoare wholeaves next month to go sailing for anextended period. Bob confirmed thatthe committee had advertised in all clubmedia for a ride captain and only oneperson had volunteered. He welcomedNeil to the position and thankedhim for volunteering to for this role.Bob introduced Neville Hoare whoprovided a DVD <strong>of</strong> his 2006 <strong>BMW</strong> tripto Cape York. The DVD was shown andNeville provided a commentary about thetrip and answered questions from membersduring the presentation. Membersenjoyed seeing and hearing about the trip.Secretary’s ReportRegistration sheets are available tonightfor the Triumph Rally in February.Treasurer’s ReportThe Christmas camp was successfuland costs have been covered.Turnover was about $2000.Steve advised that, after somedifficulties, an ING bank account is nowoperational, allowing the club to earnbetter interest on funds. <strong>Club</strong> fundsare safe. A fluctuation <strong>of</strong> moneys hasoccurred this month as the club has paidfor the HART course being attended byabout 40 members in February, before allmoneys have been received by members.This was anticipated and planned for.Ron Matthews moved, FrankCachia seconded, that reportsbe accepted. All in favour.Social Secretary’s ReportJack Schmidt expressed special thanks tothose who helped with the Christmas Camp.He was not able to attend due to his surgerythe week before the camp. He particularlythanked Warrick Tovey, Detlef Lampand Brian Macdonald as well as all whoassisted. Attendance was not high, Omeoa lot further away, but those who attendedenjoyed the site, the town and the riding.Events on the social calendar arenow sparse until mid year when Jackwould like to see as many as possibleattending the presentation dinner.Christmas in Winterwill be at Corryong this year.Jack’s ride to Orbost will occur on thelong weekend in <strong>Mar</strong>ch. This year, a 3 or 4day option is available. This is a different rideto the traditional club ride. Please adviseJack within the month if you wish to attend.A small number <strong>of</strong> members havealready paid a deposit for the New Zealandtrip in November/December this year.Large number <strong>of</strong> people have indicatedtheir interest. <strong>Club</strong> is not organizing anitinerary for people in NZ, this will be atthe members’ discretion. Robert Scott fromTwo Wheel Touring NZ, a company whichadvertises in <strong>BeeEm</strong>, is willing to designitineraries or provide suggestions for thosegoing on the trip. He strongly recommendsthe Bert Munro festival in Invercargill inNovember. This is a great event with streetraces, beach races, motocross and morefor 3 days. In coming meetings Jack willpresent more recommendations. Members’friends also encouraged to attend. Allwill be eligible for prizes <strong>of</strong> free shippingand free airfare. Jack referred membersto the Get Routed website for furtherinformation about insurance while in NZ.Ride Team ReportKarl Haering, Midweek Ride Coordinator,asked Pat Bajraszewski for a brief reporton the Opposite Icicle Ride which wasJanuary’s midweek ride. Pat confirmedthe route was enjoyable, the weather wasmild but not hot, stops were leisurely and
