<strong>PINE</strong> <strong>TREE</strong> <strong>ISD</strong>(<strong>2012</strong>-<strong>2013</strong>) <strong>DRESS</strong> <strong>CODE</strong>Pants/Shorts/Dresses:Grades (5-12)Ø No holes are allowed on jeans/pants/shorts.Ø Pants/shorts are to be worn at the waist and may not be oversized. (Absolutely nosagging allowed).Ø Skirts/Dresses/Shorts can be no shorter than 3” inches above the knee whilestanding in a normal position.Ø Garments must be worn over leggings/jeggings and can be no shorter than 5”inches above the knee.Ø Wind pants are allowed.Ø Athletic shorts are not allowed in grades (7-12).Shirts/Sweatshirts/Sweaters:Ø Polos/T-shirts may be worn out as long as they are not oversized (they should notextend past the wrist of a student who is standing in a normal position).Ø Shirts designed to be buttoned must be buttoned.Ø Shirts must cover the midriff and must cover the chest area (cleavage must becovered).Shoes:Ø Shoes must match and are to be fastened or tied at all times.Other Guidelines:Ø Distracting hairstyles such as unnatural colors, spikes, tails, Mohawks/FauxHawks, or partially shaved hair is not allowed. Hair must be uniformly cut withno designs or insignias cut into the hair. Hair may not cover the eyes in any way.Ø Pierced jewelry may be worn only in the ear. No gauging allowed.


Not Allowed:Ø Oversized clothing of any kind. Clothing should fit in a manner where nothingcan be concealed under or inside the clothing.Ø Any type of holes in clothing.Ø Clothing that may advertise or imply sex, drugs, alcohol, profanity, tobacco,death, suicide, violence, occult, or any writing or graphics that may disrupt theeducational process.Ø Tank tops, muscle shirts, spaghetti straps. Backless shirts or dresses.Ø Pajamas.Ø Leggings/jeggings (unless worn with clothing that is no shorter than 5” inchesabove the knee.)Ø SweatpantsØ No writing is allowed across the seat of pants.Ø See through clothing.Ø Shirts that expose cleavage.Ø Trench coats or duster coats.Ø Sunglasses or distracting eyewear.Ø Caps, hats, head-coverings, hair nets, bandanas, or any other type of headcovering. Hoodies cannot cover the head at any time.Ø Pocket chains.Ø Tattoos must be covered.Ø Any type of apparel that may represent clubs, gangs, or groups other than thosesponsored by the school.*The school has the right to ask students to change their dress, or hairstyle/color if itis of such nature as to disrupt the maintenance of order, modesty, and cleanliness,or to attract attention by dressing in a distracting manner. The campus principalwill give approval to any special circumstances relating to school dress.Please understand that a dress code violation is a discipline matter and will be dealtwith as such. A student is subject to consequences for any dress code violation(including placement in to PACE Alternative Center for repeated violations). Thefollowing consequences will be followed in regards to dress code violations.1. First Offense – parent is notified to bring appropriate clothing. Student is givenwritten warning and placed in ISS until clothing is brought by parent.2. Second Offense – (1) day ISS3. Third Offense – (3) days ISS4. Four or more offenses – Discretion of campus administrator. (Could result inPACE placement).
