Vice president of theBoerne Berges Fest, Jeremiah Bowman, said that if it weren’t for the support from thecommunity, the event wouldn’t be the success it is today.“Berges Fest wouldn’t be here without our sponsors. We really do appreciateeverything they do for us and for this event. It’s easy to say thank you, but you cannever say it enough,” he said. “And because we’re all volunteers, we donate all the timeand money we can, but every little thing helps. So we’re extremely grateful.”And while the annual event is an occasionto gather with friends and family for a goodtime, there’s a larger underlying goal.“A lot of people don’t realize that BergesFest is a fundraiser. That’s the ultimatepurpose,” Bowman said.Local business, R&R Tractor and Equipment, has been an active event sponsor of the BoerneBerges Fest for 20 years. And as the co-ownerand dedicated supporter, Robin Bergmann saidthere are more reasons than one to donate.“The directors put a lot of work intoorganizing the Fest. I used to be a directorfor four years so I know how much work itis,” he said. “But it’s not only the amount of time and energy they put into the Festthat makes it worthwhile, the event is a fundraiser for a lot of non-profits in thecommunity. It really helps the city. It’s a good deal. And there are a lot of things foreveryone in the family to do during the 3-day event. Boerne Berges Fest gets them involvedin something together.”As a town that thrives on small-town relationships and community involvement,it comes as no surprise that the Boerne Berges Fest is one of the Boerne’s mostcontinued on page 16SPeCiAL ThAnkS To ALL 2012PArTiCiPATinG SPonSorS:Cavender ChevroletKENS5Hampton InnKendall County AirKeg OneBergheim BBQKHill BBQAll Points CommunicationHill Country PlanningPanache LandscapingAncira GMCAncira RVJennings Anderson FordDavid Phillip, CPAKendall County AbstractN.H.
