Session Organizers: Mike Krupa, BASF Corporation
Jeff King, Dow, David Williams, Honeywell
Moderator: Jeff King, Dow
Vice Moderator: Mike Krupa, BASF Corporation
The Appliance/Cold Chain session will bring together both raw material
interests with new processing options for the insulating foam industry.
Replacement of current HFC’s with lower GWP 4th generation blowing
agents, or HFO’s are evaluated in the reach-in cooler industry. Process
improvements will be shown which significantly improve cycle time,
flowability, and the insulation values in the appliance area. New
developments in surfactant technologies will be discussed, specifically
around hydrocarbon blown foams. The session will conclude with a
presentation discussing a new low GWP blowing agent evaluated in
household refrigeration.
