ROCHESTER GENERAL HOSPITAL FOUNDATIONRGH Foundation Implements Program to SecureKresge Challenge GrantIn an effort to bring the PartnersCampaign to a close, the RochesterGeneral Hospital Foundation hasentered into a partnership withIDC, Ltd. from Henderson, Nevada toimplement a phone / mail telecommunicationsprogram. The processinvolves the mailing of two letters toapproximately 20,000 prospects, followedby phone calls. The first letteris signed by Don Twietmeyer, Esq.,RGH Foundation Board of DirectorsChairman. The first letter introduces asecond letter to follow, signed by ElliottLandsman, RGH Foundation ExecutiveCommittee Member of the Board. Thesecond letter has more of a personaltouch and includes a full-color brochure.Mr. Landsman’s letter describesthe Partners Campaign and explainsthat a hospital representative (trainedIDC volunteers) will be making phonecalls asking for support of the Campaign.When the IDC volunteers make thephone calls on behalf of the Foundationthey will also talk about the prestigiousKresge Challenge Grant and how eachnew gift is significant and will makean impact on the outcome of our Campaign;and how each gift will greatlybenefit all of the individuals that RochesterGeneral Hospital serves.The IDC volunteers began makingphone calls on February 7, 2008. If theRGH Foundation raises the $1.8 millionwe will receive the $750,000 fromthe Kresge Foundation. This means anadditional $.42 for every dollar raisedfrom donors. Therewill be no interruption to emergencyservices during construction, whichwill almost double the size of theEmergency Department. The additionis due to be completed in 2009.After the addition is finished, renovationscan be made to the current EmergencyDepartment. The addition andrenovations will move our cardiac cathlabs closer to the main Operating Roomand provide them direct access to theED, reducing travel time and distance.We will also be able to transport patientsin greater privacy.Construction continues on the B.
