<strong>The</strong> <strong>National</strong> <strong>Wallace</strong> <strong>Monument</strong><strong>The</strong> Abbey Craig<strong>The</strong> Crown- offers spectacular views of <strong>the</strong> River Forth,<strong>the</strong> city of Stirling, and of <strong>the</strong> scene of<strong>Wallace</strong>’s famous victory at <strong>The</strong> Battle ofStirling Bridge.Building <strong>The</strong> <strong>Monument</strong>- is a gallery telling <strong>the</strong> story of howthis tribute to Scotland’s national herowas constructed.<strong>The</strong> Hall of Heroes- is where William <strong>Wallace</strong>, Robert <strong>the</strong> Bruce,and mediaeval warriors are depicted inglorious stained glass windows, immaculatelyrestored by master craftworkers in 2012.<strong>The</strong> marble busts in this gallery pay tributeto Scotland’s heroes, including <strong>the</strong> country’snational bard - Robert Burns.Reception DeskGift Shop<strong>The</strong> Terrace (Viewpoint andSet-down and Pick-up pointfor Courtesy Bus Service to<strong>The</strong> Car Park)Follow <strong>the</strong> story ofWilliam <strong>Wallace</strong>- in this gallery, where you can also see hisfamous broadsword.This pathway takes you from <strong>the</strong>Visitor Reception Centre to <strong>the</strong><strong>Monument</strong> (Allow 15 to 20 minutes.)<strong>The</strong> Stirling Trail will take you to a viewpoint overlooking Stirlingand <strong>the</strong> Castle. From here you can return to <strong>the</strong> <strong>Monument</strong>, or continueto re-join <strong>the</strong> path back to <strong>the</strong> Car Park. (Allow 35 minutes.)<strong>The</strong> Abbey Trail is a complete walk around <strong>the</strong> Abbey Craig, re-joining<strong>the</strong> path back to <strong>the</strong> Car Park. (Allow 45 minutes.)PLEASE NOTE: <strong>The</strong> paths have a hard surface of loose stone, and <strong>the</strong>y can be steep.
