ABOUT PHAIDRA KNIGHTPhaidra Knight is a professional athlete,brand ambassador, sports media talent,motivational speaker and entrepreneur.For ten years, Phaidra traveled the globeas a professional rugby player, establishingherself as the one of the premiere playersin the sport. She made three appearancesin the Rugby World Cup, was selected asmember of the All World Team, andcurrently holds many world scoring records. She was named as the USA Player of the Decade in 2010. Herachievements were the result of a rare combination of power, strength, quickness and agility.Phaidra was born and raised in the small, decidedly rural town of Irwinton, Georgia. It was there where she learnedthe core values of dedication, commitment, hard work, and discipline that have fueled and guided her career. It wason the field, though, where she learned the indispensable attributes of teamwork, leadership and effectivecommunication.Phaidra earned dual bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and Speech Communications at Alabama StateUniversity before she went on to study Law at the University of Wisconsin. And just as her studies weren’t limited to onefield, her athleticism isn’t confined to one sport. She has competed on the regional level in CrossFit Games and iscurrently training to represent the United States on the women’s bobsled team at the XXII Olympic Winter Games inSochi, Russia.Phaidra’s sport celebrity brand succeeds because of the passion, charisma and hard work she brings to all of herendeavors. As a Nike Brand Ambassador, she has been able to address in numerous venues and in a multitude ofways two issues that mean a great deal to her—women’s fitness and childhood obesity. Both independently andthrough the Women’s Sports Foundation, Phaidra also speaks to many audiences on leadership, anti bullying, and diversity.She is a Managing Partner at The Training Studio Inc., in Nyack, New York, and she was recently invited by UniversalSports to participate as a rugby analyst and commentator. Her ultimate goal is to translate her compassion forothers into philanthropic efforts geared towards youth education, fitness, and health and wellness.
