INTRODUCTIONWe're very pleased and proud to bepresenting the 4th annual edition of NorwichSound & Vision. When we launched the very first NS&V backin 2010 the intention was always to create anevent that embedded the ethos of the biggestevent of this type in the world, sxsw in Austin.I think this year we've managed to do that bynot only increasing the scale of the musicfestival, but also the conference side ofthings. We have a comprehensive conferenceprogramme taking place over the three daysin three different venues. The programmefeatures interactive panel discussions dealingwith many hot topics within three distinctstrands of the commercial creativeindustries: music, film & TV, and the digitaland interactive industries. The success of Norwich Sound & Vision hasalways been down to strong partnershipworking between organisations, and I mustgive huge thanks to the Norwich Sound &Vision partners, both new and old, whohave worked with us to deliver a trulystunning programme. This year we also have a precursor toNorwich Sound & Vision on Wednesday 9thOctober at Epic Studios - which is the firstever instalment of CIDFO - the ConvergenceInternational Digital Forum. This event willsee a whole range of people with creativeand digital ideas pitch to a panel of investorsand commissioners - rather like a DragonsDen for the Creative Industries.Norwich Sound & Vision exists in order tohave a strong, positive impact on thecreative businesses and individuals based inthis region. And also to raise the profile andcultural tourism of the city itself. We feel that we have begun to makesignificant progress in delivering on thoseaims. Last year's event saw a footfall of 7000over the three days. This included 700 fulldelegates who were here to attend theconference, largely travelling from otherparts of the country, and from overseas inmany cases. This produced a visitor spendin the city of over £100,000 per day, whichincluded £25,000 spent on hotels. Therehave also been many instances ofindividuals and enterprises who have wonnew business or found new opportunities, including the creation of new jobs - throughengaging with Norwich Sound & Vision. So with the addition of the new excitingaspects of this years Norwich Sound &Vision we're clearly going to see furthergrowth in the event itself and also for thecreative commercial industries in our region.Welcome to Norwich Sound & Vision 2013.Go and engage in as many of the events asyou can and do please let us know how yourown #NSV2013 experience was for you.ADRIAN COOKE FESTIVAL DIRECTORNS&V TEAM: ROSIE ARNOLD & JENNY ALLISON:PROGRAMMING AND PRODUCTION MANAGERS,CLARA WISEMAN: YOUNG PEOPLE’S PROJECT MANAGERMUSIC CONFERENCETHURSDAY 10 OCTOBERSEA MEDIA PRESENTS AT EPIC10.00AM – 10.40AMMUSICIANS’ ATTITUDESTO COPYRIGHTJOHN STREET: UEATOM PHILLIPS: CREATE10.45AM – 11.30AMKNOW YOUR RIGHTS:MUSIC COPYRIGHTIN ACTIONPETER BRADBURY: SKY TVLEO O’BRIEN: PPLANDY ELLIS: PRSJOHN STREET: UEA (CHAIR)11.30AM – 12.15PMCOPYRIGHT VSCREATIVITY:HOW CAN WE STRIKETHE RIGHT BALANCEDEX LUSH: PORTMANTEAUEMILY STEWART: MUSICIAN’S UNIONJOE STOPPS: MOFO HIFICAROLINE DE COCK:COPYRIGHT4CREATIVITY12.30PM – 1.30PMHOW TO MAKE A GOODMUSIC VIDEOCAROLINE BOTTOMLEY:RADAR MUSIC VIDEOSGARY STANDLEY: BBC INTRODUCING2.00PM – 3.00PMHOW TO GET NATIONALRADIO AIRPLAYJAMES DONALDSON: CHAPPEL DAVIESJEN LONG: BBC RADIO ONEJOHN KENNEDY: XFM TBCSTEVE LAMACQ: BBC 6 MUSICGARY CROWLEY: BBC LONDON / 6 MUSIC3.15PM – 4.15PMRADIO REDHEADTALKFEST: HOW NOT TO DOA MUSIC INTERVIEWSOPHIE LITTLE: BBC INTRODUCINGAYCO DUYSTER: STUDIO BRUSSELSSPONSORS AND SUPPORTERSTHE NEUTRINOSPRESENT KLANGHAUS: HOUSEOF SOUNDPART INSTALLATION, PART GIG,A COLLISION BETWEEN NOISE,ETHEREAL SOUND AND THE DOMESTICTHE NEUTRINOS PREVIEW THEIRFORTHCOMING BERLIN RESIDENCYIN 8 SHOWS FOR NSV IN THE MOSTINTIMATE SETTING90 UPPER ST GILES STREET NR2 1LTTHU 10 OCT/FRI 11 OCT5PM/6PM/7PM/8PMUNIQUE FREE EVENT/BOOKING ADVISEDFOOD AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE BY THEFAMOUS HARBERCUE SMOKEHOUSELEAVING HOME: THE JOURNEYOF THE MUSICIAN/ARTIST OUTSIDETHEIR COMFORT ZONEFRESH FROM THEIR NSV KLANGHAUS SHOWS, JOIN THE NEUTRINOSFOR LATE BREAKFAST AND ANINFORMAL DISCUSSIONUPSTAIRS AT THE BICYCLE SHOP17 ST BENEDICTS STREET NR2 4PESAT 12 OCT/11AMFREE TO ATTENDBREAKFAST AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE(NOT COMPULSORY)4 / NS&V2013 NS&V2013 \ 5
