INTRODUCTION
For Switzerland. From Switzerland.
«A med-tech product that has proved its worth in
Switzerland will win recognition on the international
scene too». A rather extravagant claim?
Perhaps. But certainly, any company that successfully
launches a medical technology product in
Switzerland has a good chance of establishing itself
on the global market as well.
«The med-tech industry is the pearl of Switzerland’s
national economy». Another extravagant
claim. Or is it? Fact: Switzerland has more medtech
companies than any other country in the
world. Another fact: many foreign med-tech firms
have deliberately chosen Switzerland for the
location of their European headquarters or as a
production site. And finally: the med-tech industry
has for many years been noted for growth figures
that are well above the average, and the industry
employs a steadily increasing number of people –
currently around 45,000.
In 2010, IFAS will once again act as a ‘showcase’ to
document the unique position that Switzerland
holds within the med-tech industry. And it will also
sustainably consolidate your position vis-à-vis the
national and international competition.

Thanks to partnerships with the key Swiss industry associations, IFAS is able
to count on the work of seven extremely committed and helpful experts.
The tasks and duties of the seven members of the IFAS trade fair advisory
committee are multifaceted, demanding and sometimes challenging. In
addition to being jointly responsible for the concept of the Swiss trade fair for
the healthcare market, the members of the Exhibition Advisory Committee
must also – depending on the association to which they belong – represent
either the interests of the exhibitors or those of the visitors, and this in an
adequate manner.

2 The following contract is concluded:
the above-mentioned company hereby lawfully registers its participation in the IFAS 2010, on 26th to 29th October 2010, Ex hibition Center Zurich
in Zurich-Oerlikon. The company undertakes to participate in the exhibition and to recognise the rules and in particular the exhibition regulations
(extracts of which are printed on the reverse) drawn up by the exhibition management which constitute an integral component of this
contract.

The basic price per square metre of stand area is:
� 1. Regular square metre price: CHF 265.–
� 2. Regular square metre price + exhibited in 2008: CHF 245.–
� 3. Regular square metre price with contract valid for 2010 and 2012: CHF 225.–
The multi-front supplements are based on the net stand hire charge. The multi-front supplements are: 2 fronts 20%, 3 and
4 fronts 25%. For stands over 100 m 2 in area, no multi-front supplement is charged. Furthermore, it is understood that a request
for allocation of a multi-front stand will be viewed by the exhibition management as a wish, but not as a condition for the legality of this Exhibitor
Contract. Stands on two levels attract a supplement of CHF 75.– per m 2 of accessible area. For stands with a height (incl. advertising and
signage) exceeding 3.5 metres, an additional charge of CHF 1000.– will be levied (all prices are exclusive of VAT). Please note that your
stand area has been reserved until 16 April 2010 as for IFAS 2008. If the contract is not submitted by this date, we will
make use of your stand area.

EXHIBITOR REGULATIONS
A) Admission criteria and acceptance of Exhibitor Regulations
Products and services specified by the Exhibition Management or – where applicable – by an exhibition advisory
board are allowed to be exhibited. The Exhibition Management – if applicable, in cooperation with a
committee of experts – has sole authority to decide on the admission or rejection of companies and/or
products or services. The Exhibitor must state the products and services he wishes to exhibit on the contract
form and in the relevant lists. The advertising of brands, products, services or companies that have not
been registered in advance is not permitted. The Exhibition Management will not be held liable for any claims
lodged by Exhibitors or third parties due to the admission or rejection of companies and/or products or
services.
In signing the Exhibitor Contract the Exhibitor accepts that these terms and conditions are binding on him
and his employees or agents. Furthermore, he undertakes to comply with all regulations of the exhibition
site owner. Any «Exhibitor Regulations», «Operating Rules» or similar regulations shall form an integral part
of the Exhibitor Contract
B) Booth allocation
Special requests concerning the location of the Exhibitor’s booth will be taken into consideration wherever
possible, but cannot be accepted as a condition for participation; the Organiser must be advised by registered
mail of any justified objections to the booth allocation within 8 days of date of dispatch of the hall
plan. Otherwise the booth allocation shall be deemed accepted.
The Exhibitor undertakes to leave the fronts assigned to his booth open (unless permitted
to do otherwise by the Exhibition Management in writing).
The Organizer reserves the right, before or after confirming the booth allocation, to adjust the location, the
number of square meters and the number of open fronts to fit the space available, i.e. to modify the size or
location of the booth within reasonable limits. This does not give the Exhibitor the right to make any financial
demands.
If the Exhibitor wishes to reduce the booth space after booth allocation has been made and confirmed by
the Organiser, the resulting difference is considered to be a partial withdrawal from the contract pursuant
to article H «Withdrawal from the Exhibitor Contract».
C) Co-Exhibitors
The participation of Co-Exhibitors requires special registration as well as a corresponding confirmation by
the Organiser. Co-Exhibitors are companies that are presented at the Exhibitor’s booth in any way, whether
through notices displaying their address or referring to them, exhibits or promotional material. For every
Co-Exhibitor the Exhibitor shall pay a basic fee and the cost of a mandatory entry in the exhibition catalogue.
The respective main Exhibitor shall be responsible towards the Organiser for each Co-Exhibitor. The
main Exhibitor shall pay the Co-Exhibitor’s fees for presence at the booth and entry in the catalogue, and
shall be liable for all consequences and costs arising from the Co-Exhibitor’s presence.
Advertisements for a brand, product, service or company not taking part in the exhibition are not
permitted.
In cases where Co-Exhibitors have not been registered in advance, the Exhibitor shall pay an additional
administration fee of CHF 500 on top of the usual basic fee for Co-Exhibitors.
D) Booth space
The booth space shall be defined as the net floor area.
For the accessible floor space of upper levels, one-third of the square metre price for ground floor space
will be charged.
Not included in the booth rent are:
– any surcharges for multi-fronted booths and second floors
– booth construction and booth interior as well as floor coverings
– booth cleaning
– technical connections as well as fees and consumption
– basic fees for Co-Exhibitors
– entries and advertisements in the exhibition catalogue, promotional material
– other rents, additional orders and services requested via special order forms
– insurances
Contract services such as booth construction, furnishings, technical installations, plants, insurances etc. will
be invoiced directly by the official suppliers.
E) Booth construction and booth design
The Exhibitor rents the net booth space without booth construction.
The Exhibitor shall be free to engage a booth constructor of his own choice or the official booth constructor
for the Exhibition. Booth constructions must comply with the site owner’s regulations.
Upper floors require advance permission from the Organiser.
Particular reference is made to the special regulations laid down by the fire police.
Work outside fixed working hours requires special permission. Corresponding applications are to be
addressed to the Organiser in writing. Permission will always be granted in writing. If the Exhibitor or one of
his suppliers causes additional costs (e.g. costs for personnel and energy, rent etc.) through using the halls
outside the fixed working hours, these costs will be charged to the Exhibitor according to time and expenditure.
Any objects left behind can simply be disposed of by the Organiser.
F) Delivery, installation of heavy goods
The Exhibitor is obliged to give the Organiser advance notification of heavy goods (upwards of 500 kg per
square meter) already when he submitting the Exhibitor Contract. The Exhibitor shall be liable for damages
if he has heavy goods transported into the halls without notifying the Exhibition Management in good time.
In his own interests, the Exhibitor is requested to notify the Exhibition Management in writing, so that the
necessary substructures and supply lines can be preinstalled in good time and in the required size and form.
The Exhibitor shall be liable for any floor contamination and general damage to the building caused by him.
G) Prices, conditions of payment
All prices are exclusive of the Swiss VAT rate applicable at the time of invoicing.
Invoices will usually only be sent out after the definitive allocation of booths. The invoiced amounts must be
settled in due time according to the payment conditions set out on the invoice. In case of default the Exhibition
Management reserves the right to charge additional fees for reminders and accumulated interest.
Amounts charged less than 60 days before the opening of the event are due immediately and must be paid
within five working days from date of invoicing.
Exhibitors whose payments are late can be barred from occupying their booth by the Exhibition Management
without, however, being released from their financial obligations in respect of their exhibition booth
and the additional services they have ordered. The Exhibition Management may use for other purposes any
booth for which the rent has not been paid within the time agreed without, however, cancelling the defaulting
Exhibitor’s liability for booth rent, additional services ordered and any further consequential costs.
H) Withdrawal from the Exhibitor Contract
Withdrawal from the Exhibitor Contract must be notified by registered letter. If the Exhibitor withdraws
from the contract in due form after having signed it, it is deemed to have been agreed that the following
damages will paid by the Exhibitor to the Exhibition Management:
a) Contracts only for 2010:
for cancellation up to 22.04.10: 1/3 of the stand rental costs
for cancellation in the period from 23.04.10 to 8.07.10: 2/3 of the stand rental costs
for cancellation in the period from 9.07.10 up to the opening of the trade fair: 3/3 of the
stand rental costs
b) Contracts only for 2010 and 2012:
For cancellation before 26.10.2010, the cancellation rules as for
‘a) Contracts only for 2010’ apply, plus 1/3 of the stand rental costs.
for cancellation between 26.10.2010 and 19.04.2012: 1/3 of the stand rental costs
for cancellation in the period from 20.04.2012 to 12.07.2012: 2/3 of the stand rental costs
for cancellation in the period from 13.07.2012 up to the opening of the trade fair: 3/3 of the
stand rental costs
These damages will be waived if the Exhibitor is able, within 14 days of notifying his withdrawal, to present
to the Exhibition Management another Exhibitor for the whole of the area, who was not already registered
at the time of withdrawal and who will be the Exhibitor’s legal successor in the Agreement. The replacement
Exhibitor must fully comply with the conditions for admission pursuant to article A).
With his withdrawal from the Exhibitor Contract the Exhibitor forfeits all rights to the agreed or confirmed
booth location and all further claims towards the Organiser.
The Organiser can freely dispose of all booth spaces and booths that are not occupied by 15:00 h on the
day before the exhibition opens. All the Exhibitor’s rights to his booth space, his booth and further services
of the Organiser are forfeited. However, the Exhibitor is liable for the full amount of booth rent, overheads
and services ordered, as well as all costs caused by his failure to occupy the booth space or booth.
I) Demonstrations, attractions, advertising and seminars outside the booth
Concepts for demonstrations and attractions in the various booths must be submitted for approval to the
Organiser in good time and in writing and may not disturb, either visually or acoustically, people in adjacent
booths or visitors. Neither may they obstruct the circulation of visitors in the aisles; in particular it is not
allowed to use any area outside the confirmed booth space.
The area outside the confirmed booth space may not be used for advertising purposes. In particular, it is not
permitted to distribute promotional material outside the confirmed booth space without prior written
approval by the Organiser.
Normally, the Exhibitor may not hold seminar events of any kind during the exhibition. Exceptions must be
approved by the Organiser in writing.
In serious cases where Exhibitors infringe the rules of fair competition, they may be excluded from the event
with immediate effect in the interests of the exhibition as a whole.
K) Official permits/ legal requirements
Exhibitors are expected to submit their own applications for any official permits required for their range of
exhibits and to comply with all legal requirements and regulations.
If the fire inspector or the exhibition site owner objects to the booth construction or part of it, or any of
the products exhibited, then the Organiser cannot be made liable for any consequential costs and activities
in this respect. The Exhibitor is responsible for clarifying this in advance.
L) Insurance
Liability insurance as well as insurances against fire, explosions and natural hazards are mandatory for all
Exhibitors and have to be taken out by the Exhibitor himself.
Exhibition and transport insurance, however, are not mandatory for the Exhibitor. The Organiser recommends
taking these out as well, though. An application form is included in the documentation for Exhibitors.
M) Presence at the booth, clearing and dismantling the booths
The booths must be manned by booth personnel throughout the Exhibition.
The stands may not be cleared or dismantled before the end of the event.
N) Liability of the Organiser and the Exhibitors
The Organiser assumes no obligation to take proper care of exhibition goods and booth installations and
excludes all liability. The Exhibitor is responsible for installing any protection devices on the machines and
equipment he is exhibiting that may be required under accident prevention regulations. The Exhibitor is liable
for injury to persons and damage to property caused by his exhibition goods, in particular during installation
and dismantling.
O) Force majeure, strikes
In the case of compelling reasons or in cases of force majeure, strikes, orders by the authorities, risk of terrorist
attacks etc. the Organiser is entitled to move the exhibition to another date, or shorten, extend or cancel
it. In such cases the Exhibitors shall neither be entitled to withdrawal from the Agreement nor to payment
of damages.
P) Applicable law and place of jurisdiction
All legal relations between the exhibitor and the event organiser shall be subject to Swiss law.The
registered office of Exhibit & More AG is agreed as the exclusive place of jurisdiction. However,
Exhibit & More AG shall be entitled to bring a claim against the other party before any other court.

5 Services to co-exhibitors
The range of services offered by the exhibition management can be made use of within the scope of the exhibitor contract concluded for this
exhibition stand.
6 Conditions for co-exhibitors
1. Registration may only be submitted by the company which has concluded an exhibitor contract with the exhibition management.
2. For registration of a co-exhibitor an administration fee of CHF 500.– (excl. VAT) will be charged.
3. More than one co-exhibitor may be registered. The number may nevertheless be restricted by the exhibition management without stated
reasons.
4. Obligatory co-exhibitor’s package: the co-exhibitor’s package contains the mandatory basic entry in the catalogue and on the Internet and
will be charged to the principal exhibitor company at CHF 950.– (excl. VAT).
5. A separate registration form must be completed for each co-exhibitor. Additional forms in French and German may be obtained from the
exhibition management.
6. On the exhibition stand the co-exhibitor is to be presented in such a way that the exhibition visitors can easily establish the presence of the
co-exhibitor. Moreover the names of the exhibitors on the same exhibition stand are to be placed on the stand panel.
7. For the duration of the exhibition a contact person from the co-exhibitor company must be present for visitors to the exhibition.

for the Exhibition. Booth constructions must comply with the site owner’s regulations.
Upper floors require advance permission from the Organiser.
Particular reference is made to the special regulations laid down by the fire police.
Work outside fixed working hours requires special permission. Corresponding applications are to be
addressed to the Organiser in writing. Permission will always be granted in writing. If the Exhibitor or one of
his suppliers causes additional costs (e.g. costs for personnel and energy, rent etc.) through using the halls
outside the fixed working hours, these costs will be charged to the Exhibitor according to time and expenditure.
Any objects left behind can simply be disposed of by the Organiser.
F) Delivery, installation of heavy goods
The Exhibitor is obliged to give the Organiser advance notification of heavy goods (upwards of 500 kg per
square meter) already when he submitting the Exhibitor Contract. The Exhibitor shall be liable for damages
if he has heavy goods transported into the halls without notifying the Exhibition Management in good time.
In his own interests, the Exhibitor is requested to notify the Exhibition Management in writing, so that the
necessary substructures and supply lines can be preinstalled in good time and in the required size and form.
The Exhibitor shall be liable for any floor contamination and general damage to the building caused by him.
G) Prices, conditions of payment
All prices are exclusive of the Swiss VAT rate applicable at the time of invoicing.
Invoices will usually only be sent out after the definitive allocation of booths. The invoiced amounts must be
settled in due time according to the payment conditions set out on the invoice. In case of default the Exhibition
Management reserves the right to charge additional fees for reminders and accumulated interest.
Amounts charged less than 60 days before the opening of the event are due immediately and must be paid
within five working days from date of invoicing.

Exhibitors whose payments are late can be barred from occupying their booth by the Exhibition Management
without, however, being released from their financial obligations in respect of their exhibition booth
and the additional services they have ordered. The Exhibition Management may use for other purposes any
booth for which the rent has not been paid within the time agreed without, however, cancelling the defaulting
Exhibitor’s liability for booth rent, additional services ordered and any further consequential costs.
H) Withdrawal from the Exhibitor Contract
Withdrawal from the Exhibitor Contract must be notified by registered letter. If the Exhibitor withdraws
from the contract in due form after having signed it, it is deemed to have been agreed that the following
damages will paid by the Exhibitor to the Exhibition Management:
a) Contracts only for 2010:
for cancellation up to 22.04.10: 1/3 of the stand rental costs
for cancellation in the period from 23.04.10 to 8.07.10: 2/3 of the stand rental costs
for cancellation in the period from 9.07.10 up to the opening of the trade fair: 3/3 of the
stand rental costs
b) Contracts only for 2010 and 2012:
For cancellation before 26.10.2010, the cancellation rules as for
‘a) Contracts only for 2010’ apply, plus 1/3 of the stand rental costs.
for cancellation between 26.10.2010 and 19.04.2012: 1/3 of the stand rental costs
for cancellation in the period from 20.04.2012 to 12.07.2012: 2/3 of the stand rental costs
for cancellation in the period from 13.07.2012 up to the opening of the trade fair: 3/3 of the
stand rental costs
These damages will be waived if the Exhibitor is able, within 14 days of notifying his withdrawal, to present
to the Exhibition Management another Exhibitor for the whole of the area, who was not already registered
at the time of withdrawal and who will be the Exhibitor’s legal successor in the Agreement. The replacement
Exhibitor must fully comply with the conditions for admission pursuant to article A).
With his withdrawal from the Exhibitor Contract the Exhibitor forfeits all rights to the agreed or confirmed
booth location and all further claims towards the Organiser.
The Organiser can freely dispose of all booth spaces and booths that are not occupied by 15:00 h on the
day before the exhibition opens. All the Exhibitor’s rights to his booth space, his booth and further services
of the Organiser are forfeited. However, the Exhibitor is liable for the full amount of booth rent, overheads
and services ordered, as well as all costs caused by his failure to occupy the booth space or booth.
I) Demonstrations, attractions, advertising and seminars outside the booth
Concepts for demonstrations and attractions in the various booths must be submitted for approval to the
Organiser in good time and in writing and may not disturb, either visually or acoustically, people in adjacent
booths or visitors. Neither may they obstruct the circulation of visitors in the aisles; in particular it is not
allowed to use any area outside the confirmed booth space.
The area outside the confirmed booth space may not be used for advertising purposes. In particular, it is not
permitted to distribute promotional material outside the confirmed booth space without prior written
approval by the Organiser.
Normally, the Exhibitor may not hold seminar events of any kind during the exhibition. Exceptions must be
approved by the Organiser in writing.
In serious cases where Exhibitors infringe the rules of fair competition, they may be excluded from the event
with immediate effect in the interests of the exhibition as a whole.
K) Official permits/ legal requirements
Exhibitors are expected to submit their own applications for any official permits required for their range of
exhibits and to comply with all legal requirements and regulations.
If the fire inspector or the exhibition site owner objects to the booth construction or part of it, or any of
the products exhibited, then the Organiser cannot be made liable for any consequential costs and activities
in this respect. The Exhibitor is responsible for clarifying this in advance.
L) Insurance
Liability insurance as well as insurances against fire, explosions and natural hazards are mandatory for all
Exhibitors and have to be taken out by the Exhibitor himself.
Exhibition and transport insurance, however, are not mandatory for the Exhibitor. The Organiser recommends
taking these out as well, though. An application form is included in the documentation for Exhibitors.
M) Presence at the booth, clearing and dismantling the booths
The booths must be manned by booth personnel throughout the Exhibition.
The stands may not be cleared or dismantled before the end of the event.
N) Liability of the Organiser and the Exhibitors
The Organiser assumes no obligation to take proper care of exhibition goods and booth installations and
excludes all liability. The Exhibitor is responsible for installing any protection devices on the machines and
equipment he is exhibiting that may be required under accident prevention regulations. The Exhibitor is liable
for injury to persons and damage to property caused by his exhibition goods, in particular during installation
and dismantling.
O) Force majeure, strikes
In the case of compelling reasons or in cases of force majeure, strikes, orders by the authorities, risk of terrorist
attacks etc. the Organiser is entitled to move the exhibition to another date, or shorten, extend or cancel
it. In such cases the Exhibitors shall neither be entitled to withdrawal from the Agreement nor to payment
of damages.
P) Applicable law and place of jurisdiction
All legal relations between the exhibitor and the event organiser shall be subject to Swiss law.The
registered office of Exhibit & More AG is agreed as the exclusive place of jurisdiction. However,
Exhibit & More AG shall be entitled to bring a claim against the other party before any other court.
