Training Aids are constructed usingsound engineering techniques toensure our items are reliable andfully functional. Each item is craftedfrom open source intelligence usingexact or very similar components andconstruction to ensure the highestdegree of realism.Sample training aids are below.Nuclear WMD (Trunk Device)The Trunk Device is set up in a shipping crate. It can either beremoved from the crate out of the top, or the front panel ofthe crate can be removed, allowing access to the electronicsfor testing and arming. The device itself is built to representa Gun-Type IND like “Little Boy” (based on open sourceintelligence available on the internet). Once positioned at theintended target, the device will function autonomously uponlocal arming and final remote arming. There are no movingparts. There are two steel slugs, the projectile and the target(simulating uranium). Upon initiation by the electronic timer, theanti-tamper feature, or the Dead Man Toggle switch, the devicewill sound a siren, simulating the firing of a powder charge andfunctioning of the device.Travel Suit Case (Wet)This roller suitcase contains a sealed container filled with a liquidcontaminant, and a 12 volt marine pump activated to a popupsprinkler. LRCT trigger and electronic timer trigger with aremote S/A.CDD (Dry) CoolerA compressed gas system disburses a powder contaminant. A 12volt system, CO 2cylinder with a solenoid valve release, remoteS/A and anti-lift trigger with anti-open instant detonation siren.55Gal Drum (Radiation Salvage Drum Device)This device is set up as a salvage drum with proper HAZMATlabeling and shipping papers. The bottom of the Salvage Drumhas been removed to facilitate training requirements. The deviceitself is built to represent a Gun-Type IND like “Little Boy”(available on the internet). Once positioned at the intendedtarget, the bomber can leave and fully control this device via cellphone.Once armed, a positive blocking mechanism must be removed.Upon initiation by either the command fire or the anti-tamperfeature, a siren will sound, simulating the firing of a powdercharge and functioning of the device.Newspaper Stand Device with Explosively Formed Projectile(EFP) ArrayNewspaper Stand device is an inert replica of an IED assembledin a newspaper stand. The firing circuit is an RC-armed andPIR-fired device. The main charge is 3 EFPs in a cluster onthe bottom half of the stand. The blasting cap is electric. Thebattery source is a 12 volt gel cell.Note: All RDD/IND type devices built by authority of US government.Newspaper BombThe Newspaper Bomb is an inert replica of an IED folded ina newspaper. The firing circuit is a micro switch used as ananti-open device. The main charge is a small amount of plasticexplosives imbedded with small nails for fragmentation. Theblasting cap is electric. The battery source is a 9 volt.Traffic Cone Bomb w/ Remote & VOThe Traffic Cone device uses a remote control arm/fire withan anti-lift on the cone. The main charge is concrete nails andcast explosives with a dynamite booster down the middle. Theblasting caps are electric. The battery source is a 12 volt gel cell.Pressure Mat DeviceThe Pressure Mat Device uses a pressure switch as an antistepdevice. The main charge is a large project box filled withconcrete nails and plastic explosives. The blasting cap is electric. The battery source is a 9 volt.RCIED (Modified Handheld Radio, PMR)The handheld radio device contains two Motorola model T5720radios, a firing box with firing leads and two charging stations. One radio is used as the transmitter and the other as thereceiver.Passive Infrared (PIR) DeviceThis small plastic project box can hide anywhere. The device isactivated by movement of an object in front of the 360-degreewindow. It contains a 9 volt battery, a set of firingleads and a PIR circuit board. It also has an on/offswitch on the outside the box for arming.Fire Extinguisher IEDThe Fire Extinguisher IED is a replica of anIED assembled in a fire extinguisher. The firingcircuit is a micro switch used as an anti-liftdevice with a “mouse trap” modified as a S/A& Arm device. The main charge is US militarydynamite (4 sticks) and the blasting caps areelectric. The battery source is a 9 volt.S-VestThis device is a fishing vest with nail-coated pipe bomb chargesdesigned to look and feel like a real suicide vest. The pushbutton detonator is connected to a siren penalty.Backpack w/ Dynamite & Electronic TimerThis replica of an IED assembled in a backpack uses an electricaltimer firing circuit. The main charge is US military dynamite (8sticks) and the blasting caps are electric. The battery source is a9 volt.Training aids are customizable uponrequest and we can modify anything tomeet a specific requirement.Call us at757-721-6601or visit us online atzeropointusa.comfor more information.30 Point One 2013 Catalog zeropointusa.com 757.721.6601 31
