David’s Cave1 Samuel 24:2-72 Then Saul took three thousand chosen men from all Israel, andwent to seek David and his men on the Rocks of the Wild Goats.3 So he came to the sheepfolds by the road, where there was acave; and Saul went <strong>in</strong> to attend to his needs. (David and hismen were stay<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> the recesses of the cave.) 4 Then the men ofDavid said to him, “This is the day of which the Lord said toyou, ‘Behold, I will deliver your enemy <strong>in</strong>to your hand, that youmay do to him as it seems good to you.’” And David arose andsecretly cut off a corner of Saul’s robe.3


David’s Cave1 Samuel 24:2-75 Now it happened afterward that David’s heart troubled himbecause he had cut Saul’s robe. 6 And he said to his men, “TheLord forbid that I should do this th<strong>in</strong>g to my master, the Lord’sano<strong>in</strong>ted, to stretch out my hand aga<strong>in</strong>st him, see<strong>in</strong>g he is theano<strong>in</strong>ted of the Lord.” 7 So David restra<strong>in</strong>ed his servants withthese words, and did not allow them to rise aga<strong>in</strong>st Saul. AndSaul got up from the cave and went on his way.4


Elijah’s Cave1 K<strong>in</strong>gs 19: 5-105 Then as he lay and slept under a broom tree, suddenly an angeltouched him, and said to him, “Arise and eat.” 6 Then he looked,and there by his head was a cake baked on coals, and a jar ofwater. So he ate and drank, and lay down aga<strong>in</strong>. 7 And the angelof the Lord came back the second time, and touched him, andsaid, “Arise and eat, because the journey is too great for you.”8 So he arose, and ate and drank; and he went <strong>in</strong> the strength ofthat food forty days and forty nights as far as Horeb, themounta<strong>in</strong> of <strong>God</strong>.5


Elijah’s Cave1 K<strong>in</strong>gs 19: 5-109 And there he went <strong>in</strong>to a cave, and spent the night <strong>in</strong> thatplace; and behold, the word of the Lord came to him, and Hesaid to him, “What are you do<strong>in</strong>g here, Elijah?”10 So he said, “I have been very zealous for the Lord <strong>God</strong> ofhosts; for the children of Israel have forsaken Your covenant,torn down Your altars, and killed Your prophets with thesword. I alone am left; and they seek to take my life.”6


Elisha’s Cave1 K<strong>in</strong>gs 13:20-2120 Then Elisha died, and they buried him. And the raid<strong>in</strong>gbands from Moab <strong>in</strong>vaded the land <strong>in</strong> the spr<strong>in</strong>g of the year.21 So it was, as they were bury<strong>in</strong>g a man, that suddenly theyspied a band of raiders; and they put the man <strong>in</strong> the tomb ofElisha; and when the man was let down and touched the bonesof Elisha, he revived and stood on his feet.7


Lazarus’ CaveJohn 11:41-4441 Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead manwas ly<strong>in</strong>g. And Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, “Father, I thankYou that You have heard Me. 42 And I know that You always hearMe, but because of the people who are stand<strong>in</strong>g by I said this, thatthey may believe that You sent Me.” 43 Now when He had saidthese th<strong>in</strong>gs, He cried with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth!”44 And he who had died came out bound hand and foot withgraveclothes, and his face was wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said tothem, “Loose him, and let him go.”8
