Personal Experience
I
had been feeling quite ecstatic
when I found out that I was going
to be part of the creative kids camp
being held by the good people
of India Club. I was feeling a bit
nervous though, but it didn’t take
me long to blend in and make new
friends quickly.
On our first day, we had public
speaking. I had pretty much expected
what I would be doing, from our first
day. It was awesome! This class had
definitely boosted my confidence
level and thanks to Mr. Lakhi Sawlani
and Mrs. Mala Sawlani, now I am
no victim of stage fright. This was
also my favourite class, other than
caricature drawing, photography,
Bollywood dance and cooking. We
had fun drawing cartoon. We learned
a few mouth watering recipes too,
from Mrs. Gahana Khatwani. Our
cameras sure got a chance to flash on
photography, with Dr. Manu Mehta.
We all had a fun time dancing out
on Bollywood dance tracks with Ms.
Arti Vora. All in all, I had a fun time
and would like to thank everyone
who made this camp possible.

Dahi Handi rocks
An event which is admired by
every individual across the
world and of course not to forget
that the only Club to host it in the
Middle East was celebrated with
great aplomb. Congrats.
It is also a nice initiative to
educate the young generation about
Janmastami.
As I was actively involved in coordinating
and training of the Gopis
& Govindas for the Dahi Handi
event, I would like to thank all the
participants, parents and support
staff who were involved in making
the event a big success.
Apart from the main event an
introduction of Dry foam tub (1st
time at India Club), rain dance, live
dancers and Dj Free Styler added
a touch to the grand success of the
event..
Finally, as we are growing year by
year, we hope to have more entries
next year to form a 4 tier pyramid.

Rice is Nice
Just to put on record the great
time we had – thanks to Pansy
Lobo who organized the function so
thoughtfully.
Well decorated dishes showed how
enthusiastically all members had
participated. It was indeed a tough
job for judges Rakesh Puri, Auxulio
D’Souza and Monal Malhotra to
choose the winners. While judges
were busy selecting the winning
entries, members were kept busy
with the all time favorite game
of Housie. A vegetable carving
demonstration by Ms. Savithri Kisani
was very interesting. Not only were
the winners rewarded, but Mr. Dev
Tharwani of Kohinoor Rice was very
generous in giving lavish gifts to all
the members present, participants
and non-participants.
Overall, it was a very enjoyable
evening that ended with some of the
finest delicacies prepared by our club
chef.

Badminton Tournament
Having participated in the
Interstate Tournament 2010, I
very much appreciate India Club’s
endeavor to conduct such a warm
tournament,40 players 8 teams
one tournament... The India Club
interstate tournament held from
25th September to 2nd October 2010
brought together all the badminton
lovers of India Club. We got to see
a lot of good players giving their
best performance,not for the trophy
but for the spirit of the game and
for their respective teams. A lot of
credit goes to the Sports Committee
Members who continues to take their
best efforts every year to make this
tournament a huge success. Cheers
to Mr. Prakashan A. K., Mr. Kishore
Setpal and Mr. Simon. Managing
40 badminton players and forming
teams is not at all an easy job, but
keeping aside a few confusions.
The tournament was such a hit
with the members that,at the party
that followed the final, there were lot
of requests from the players to hold
the tournament at least twice in a
year. Again thumbs up to the sports
committee for giving players at all
levels, an opportunity to play with
best players of India Club.

Kreative Kamp
This is to tell you that we loved
the summer camp this year. The
topics were so interesting and the
kids had a blast in the camp. It was
very informative too.
Thank you for all the efforts that

Oman Celebrations
I
have been attending the various
events held by the Club on a
regular basis. The recently held
Onam celebration warrants a special
mention. I must commend the club for
a well organised event that brought
back fond memories of home, the
traditions and the togetherness that
goes with it.
Many thanks for organising this
and look forward to attending several
more.
