7Dispersal Sale ofBridgepark Flockfor Messrs K & M LinklaterForewordThe Bridgepark Flock was founded in 1976 with the purchase of females from theLauderdale, Donan and Muiresk flocks. Subsequent acquisitions were made at theBarrons, Muiresk and Westfoulden dispersals. All of the current flock can be traced backto these bloodlines.Initial success included the Suffolk Championship at the Kelso Show with a ram lamb.Recently showing has been restricted to the Annual Peebles Show where the SuffolkChampionship was won in the years 2003, 2006 and 2008. Shearling rams and ramlambs were consigned annually to the Kelso Ram Sales up to 2000 with the shearlingsmaking up to £1000 and the lambs up to £1200. Since then the flock has been run on acommercial basis lambing in March with the aim to sell strong crossing shearling rams atKelso and Longtown. Emphasis has been placed on good fleshing ability with fine blackhair, tight skins and well-formed gigots.
