Funk, Heitel-4n <strong>the</strong> MoveMEMOREX EMPLOYEES GROW WITH COMPANYThe Marketing Division has made a number of promotionsas late, two of <strong>the</strong> most noteworthy being BobFunk's promotion to video product sales manager andJerry Heitel's to computer products sales manager.Bob is now responsible for sales of video tape for broadcastand closed-circuit television systems. Before acceptinghis new position he was video product manager and beforethat he was video tape specialist in <strong>the</strong> New York area.Bob, who has been with <strong>the</strong> company since 1964, is agraduate of Miami University, Ohio, and a former Captainin <strong>the</strong> U. S. Air Force.Jerry joined <strong>the</strong> company in July, 1965, as a sales engineerand in April, 1968, he was promoted to district salesmanager in charge of <strong>the</strong> nor<strong>the</strong>rn portion of <strong>the</strong> CentralAtlantic Region. Before coming to our company, he wasa sales and marketing specialist for 3M.His wife, Betty, and <strong>the</strong>ir two children, are in <strong>the</strong> rocessof moving from <strong>the</strong>ir home in New Jersey to <strong>the</strong> I antaClara area.There were also several o<strong>the</strong>r management level promotionsin <strong>the</strong> past month, including two managers whoare now directors and five men who were promoted tomanager positions.HEITEL BRYANT WESENDUNKTully Bryant, former manager of Materiel, is nowdirector of Materiel and Dick Wesendunk, former managerof Industrial Engineering, has become a director in<strong>the</strong> same division.AMERICAN IMPORTED FROM ENGLANDThe Santa Clara International Operations staff has anew import-he's Barry Bobbitt, manager of Export Sales.Barry has actual1 been with erno or ex since December,1967, as manager o i' International and Military Contracts,assigned to European Operations in Maidenhead, England.He was born in Portland, Oregon, and is a graduate ofLewis and Clark College in that state. He is also a graduateof <strong>the</strong> American Institute for Foreign Trade in Arizona.Barry speaks fluent Spanish, which will be a valuableaid as he begins his new job of developing sales andmarketing program with our existing sales organizationsin Mexico, Central and South America and <strong>the</strong> Pacific.NEW ENGINEERING DIRECTORRoland Jang has a new assignment that will involvedirecting various launch groups responsible for introducingnew product lines into <strong>the</strong> Supplies Division.His replacement as director of Engineering is RobertBertrand, who comes to our company after two years asIn Marketing, Jerry Colligan moves from supervisorof Marketing Office Services to manager of Sales Service;and Steve Walsh moves from sales engineer to districtmanager in <strong>the</strong> regional sales office in Belmont, California.Steve 'oined <strong>the</strong> company in 1965 as a order correspondent/sa\ es trainee, while he was still attending college.Jerry started as customer sales and service specialist, in 1967.The third new manager is Frank Dalle Molle, whomoves from supervis~r to manager in Cost AccountinThe fourth new manager is Bob Reif. Bob started wit t<strong>Memorex</strong> in 1966 as a technician in Quality Control. In1967, he was assigned to <strong>the</strong> Disc Pack Sup rt programas a production specialist and <strong>the</strong>n was o al* cially transferredto Los Angeles in 1968, where he became a productionsupervisor. Now, Bob is back in Santa Clara as managerof Manufacturing Test and Inspection.And <strong>the</strong> fifth is Don Miller, who is promoted fromsales engineer to sales manager of <strong>Memorex</strong> Canada Limited,a sales subsidiary in Toronto.Still more promotions since May have included: JohnEthier, senior mechanical engineer to group leader;Chuck Limprecht, quality control auditor to qualitycontrol engineer; Hendrik Brandt, electro-mechanicalmaintenance technician to foreman trainee; Mitsuru Okan~oto,electronic technician to associate engineer; TerenceLevesque, production set-up operator to electro-mechanicalmaintenance technician.William Gran, mix operator to chemical technician;Benny Reynolds, mix operator to chemical technician;Les Hadley, associate engineer to circuit design specialist;Margaret Lewis, finishing and scheduling operatorto computer schedule handler; and Bobbie Beach, generalclerk to marketing data coordinator.John Cardoza, production set-up operator to computeroperator; Darlene Kirk, kardex clerk to programmertrainee; Dan Simons, customer service specialist to salesservice specialist; and Joe Richards, sales service specialistto supervisor of Marketing Office Services.JANGplant manager at International Minerals and ChemicalsCorporation (IMC) in San Jose.Bob is a former chemical engineering instructor atKansas State University. He came to San Jose IMC plantfour years ago and since <strong>the</strong>n has held several keytechnical positions.Roland, who came to our company in 1966, most recentlyserved as launch project manager for our Belgiumplant project. His job was to coordinate <strong>the</strong> entire projectbetween Santa Clara and Belgium.
