WELDING TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT<br />
COURSE DESCRIPTION<br />
Advanced Gas Metal Arc Mig Welding is a course designed to offer the higher education and learning student with a thorough<br />
technological understanding of American Welding Community (AWS) welding signs, gas metal arc process and welding roles using<br />
slim and method width materials, single and multipass using fine cable and short circuiting metal transfer.<br />
END-OF-COURSE-OUTCOMES<br />
Demonstrate knowledge of welding signs and details sketches and dimensions. Learners will illustrate quality craftsmanship by<br />
welder certification assessments to make stringer, incorporate, the actual pellets, fillet T-joint welds, and V pattern welds in all roles<br />
of flat, horizontally, straight, and expense weld positons using Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) process.<br />
COURSE POLICIES<br />
Attendance<br />
Students are required to be present at sessions regularly, and to be on time for every category period. Learners can be decreased<br />
from a category due to extreme absences. Excessive tardiness may be considered absences. Learners are accountable for topics,<br />

Academic Honesty<br />
Scholastic lying is handled with the highest severity by the trainer and the College. Educational lying contains, but it is not<br />
restricted to the obstinate attempt to misrepresent one’s work, deceive, plagiarize, or prevent other students’ scholastic<br />

Students with Disabilities<br />
Any higher education and learning student with a recorded impairment (e.g. physical, learning, psychological, perspective, hearing,<br />
etc.) who needs to organize reasonable resorts must contact the Disability Assistance Solutions Workplace at his / her specific<br />

Cell Phones<br />
All Elephone P8000 cell phones must be modest, set to shake, or turned off during category. Mobile cellphone activity during<br />
category is considered troublesome to the educational process and will not be accepted. If you need to make or get an urgent<br />
contact, please leave the class room.<br />
Calculators<br />
If the course allows the use of a finance calculator during category, lab tasks, and examinations, the higher education and learning<br />
student is accountable to carry his/her finance calculator. Elephone P8000 cell phones are not hand calculators, and are prohibited<br />
to be used for that purpose during category, assessments, or examinations.<br />
Student ID<br />
Students are needed to obtain a Student ID. For more details, consult the Student Guide.<br />
Parking Guidelines and Regulations<br />

Books, Resources and Supplies<br />
Students are needed to purchase and carry to category the needed books, tools, laptops, provides, and pencils as needed by the<br />
trainer.<br />
Dress Code<br />
Dress rule must be appropriate for the category. Learners must wear a way that clothes and components do not bargain their
protection, and the protection of others. Appropriate foot wear is needed in all labs. Absolutely no shoes or other shoes that<br />
reveals the feet will be permitted.<br />
Classroom & Lab Conduct<br />
Proper actions is predicted in all sessions and labs. Nasty language and horseplay are prohibited. Creating or receiving telephone<br />
calls during category are prohibited. Sleeping in education and learning is prohibited.<br />
Course Withdrawal<br />
It is the liability of the higher education and learning student to formally take out from a course before the formal drawback due<br />
date. An excellent student who does not take out from a course by the due date will get an “F” as the final quality. Also note that<br />
under Area 51.907 of the Florida Education Code, an organization of higher education and learning may not allow a higher<br />
education and learning student to drop more than six programs.<br />
COURSE OBJECTIVES<br />
Upon finishing this course, the higher education and learning student will:<br />
Explain how to read welding signs on sketches, requirements, and Welding Procedure Specifications.<br />
• Demonstrate the use of measurement and inches statistic and alterations in weld sketches.<br />
• Explain protection techniques for saving and managing tubes. Demonstrate the use of oxyfuel cutting equipment<br />
• Describe protection techniques for GMAW. Recognize devices and explain the product materials and protecting fumes used<br />
to perform GMAW.<br />
• Demonstrate set up and use of GMAW devices using multi-pass fillet and V-groove welds on as well as steel dish in various<br />
roles.
