The Jane Blake memorial award for besttraditional miniature 2001“Crikey! this solo show is number five atthe John Noott gallery, how time flies. Iwas most reluctant to hold a show at anylocation until Mandy twisted my arm, itwas the best thing I ever did. I thoughtthat no one would want to see 25Gustards all together it would be toomuch; I was wrong. I thought it would bean onerous task and quality wouldsuffer; I was wrong. One becomes more focussed, not with thenumbers but the desire to create a show with variety and cohesionand also the chance to have a little fun with subject titles. The joyand excitement I derive from creating a show and experiencingthe warm reception with which it is always received is just sorewarding. As I always say, I hope you enjoy the work as muchas I enjoyed creating it!”Tim GustardI know Tim finds it a challenge to vary his subject matter – eachnew object reflects light in a different way and often requires adeal of thought and experimentation before the surface can beaccurately depicted. We are fortunate that in this, Tim's fifth solo show with JohnNoott Galleries, we have several new or rare items, notably theleather book binding, the selection of vegetables in ‘Soup du jour’and the Honesty seed pods but, in particular, the bottle of Gossetchampagne (Gosset is the oldest wine house in Champagne, founded in 1584 and is, we are delighted to say, the sponsor ofthis exhibition). The quality of Tim's work is, as always, superb, exquisite, worldclass– what more can I say? Do come and see for yourselves.John NoottPAINTINGS WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE FOR SALE UNTIL THEOPENING OF THIS EXHIBITION AT 11 am ON THE 5th MAY –TELEPHONE ORDERS MAY BE PLACED ON THE 5th MAYFROM 11.30am ONWARDS02 TIM GUSTARD 2007
