Sometimes I ask myself - what is happening?<br />
Why Slovenian folk music is nowadays rarely heard.<br />
Why does my son often laugh at me?<br />
Because he knows that his dad forever chases these tunes.<br />
Then I think to myself that perhaps many are just ashamed.<br />
Ashamed of our Slovenian music – music I love.<br />
So, I would like to say, once and for all out loud :<br />
These songs make up a big part of what we are!<br />
Will my grandson still sing Slovenian songs?<br />
Will he acknowledge his hereditary roots?<br />
Will he stand proudly beside his grandfather?<br />
This is the desire I hold dearest in my heart!<br />
