GSBI Boost Methodology in Action:Global Alliance for Clean CookstovesOne of the immediate results of GSBI Boostis a simple financial model that is based upontemplates created by the GSBI staff. Duringa 2014 GSBI Boost workshop conducted inChina and presented in partnership with GlobalAlliance for Clean Cookstoves, one of theparticipating organizations filled in its financialmodel.This enterprise was using more than 180distributors to bring its cookstoves to market.By using the GSBI template, this enterprisewas able to conduct a “what-if analysis” andquickly found that if the number of distributorswere reduced to 50, revenues would increasesignificantly due to reduced overhead to supportdistributors who weren’t producing sales. Suchrelatively small adjustments continued tocreate impact by getting essentially the samenumber of clean cookstoves distributed, whilesignificantly increasing revenues.24
